Bryan Fischer Award Nominee: David Limbaugh

David Limbaugh, a sort of reverse Mycroft Holmes as Rush’s dumber brother, takes the “he ain’t hateful, he’s my brother” approach in a column that shows just how delusional that whole family must be. This line made me laugh out loud:

What I am observing is the most radical display of hate and intolerance that I’ve witnessed in years. It does not surprise me, but it is ironic that the very people who masquerade as exemplars of tolerance, civility and compassion have no room in their hearts for forgiveness.

Ah yes, the old “if you dare to criticize my intolerance, you’re being intolerant” argument that should make any rational person point and laugh. On Planet Wingnuttia, Rush Limbaugh is the victim of intolerance and hatred, not the foremost practitioner of those things. If he really thinks this is the most radical display of hate and intolerance he’s ever heard, he must not actually listen to his brother’s show. Here’s a video of dozens of his previous outrages:

A term that might be helpful for David Limbaugh to learn: “projection.”

David Limbaugh doesn’t know the word “projection” because he wasn’t allowed into his high school’s A/V club.

I would have surely thought that Rush had eaten any siblings.

so I heard that the Limbaughs were some kind of Missouri nobility? I think Claire McCaskill said she voted to name something after their grandfather or sth.

    Any Missourians here?

The lowest point in the Ozarks?

OT: When I loaded this page, my security software detected a threat and blocked it. Right now the ads I see are for Sprint and some 3G/4G hotspot, 5 foods not to eat, Proactiv, and Mr. Rooter. You might want to check them out to see they’re not spreading malware. I think this is the first time I’ve seen the Mr. Rooter one, so I’m a bit more suspicious about it.

He wants a break for his brother to be given by the people his brother has defamed and attempted to destroy daily for decades, the very people he again smeared in his so-called apology by claiming that he stooped to their level. Any sort of relief right now would only feed his fantasy that there are no consequences for being an evil man.

That would require physical prowess to match his blowhard rhetoric. However Mr. Limbaugh is the quintessential bully; a coward whose also demonstrably impotent when it comes to turning words into action. It’s also revealing his show rarely has him ever engaging in authentic debate or dialog, which demonstrates his cowardice and impotence extends even to some types of talking.

[Not] Joe the [not] Plumber is currently learning this lesson as Ed reveals in one of his other blog posts today; it’s also why another famous cowardly liar and bully, Sarah Palin, is so careful to avoid nearly all media-interview opportunities.

Santorum, speaking Saturday in Cape Girardeau, Missouri:

“This is my first trip to Cape Girardeau,” Santorum told the crowd. “… It’s good to be in the hometown of Rush Limbaugh, which some people see as a trip to Mecca.”

Another reason to loathe Santorum – his apparent endorsement of Limbaugh.

I meant to include this source link for the quote in my comment at #10 above:

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yes, your brother tends to be that way. Glad you noticed. Oh, wait…

It does not surprise me, but it is ironic that the very people who masquerade as exemplars of tolerance, civility and compassion have no room in their hearts for forgiveness.

    Shiny, shiny fucking mirror.

So they really are just like Muslim fundamentalists! The liberals are right that you guys are the American Taliban, after all!

    Thanks, Rick, for confirming it!

If you get them when they’re babies, it’s not all that difficult. A bit of mopping sauce, and you’re good to go.

I watched 2 minutes and 18 seconds of it, which was all I could take.

How is it possible that this flaming turd hasn’t choked on his own bile yet?

The “liberals are hypocrites if they’re mean to me, because they talk all of the time about tolerance” cliche gripe from conservatives can be summed up as a confusion, inadvertent or deliberate, between individual behavior and group identity. We can’t allow conservatives to pretend that being mean to a bigot, especially for his bigotry, is anything like bigotry itself.

That’s going into my favorite quotes file.

Another dumb-ass Limbaugh: …but it is ironic that the very people who masquerade as exemplars of tolerance, civility and compassion have no room in their hearts for forgiveness.

I dunno. Maybe if your brother offered a sincere apology, did something that requires effort and sacrifice in an attempt to make amends (but not, oh god!, take Ms. Fluke out to dinner — the sacrifice should come from your brother!), and then showed that his apology was sincere by never, ever again doing the things for which he had to apologize.

You’d be surprised how some of us might be a little forgiving.

“… most radical display of hate and intolerance that I’ve witnessed in years.” Really? And you’re from Missouri? Where hate and intolerance can be found in every city and town. After such a gross exaggeration, nothing this guy says counts for diddly-squat.

Huh.I saw another radical display of hate and intolerance not two weeks ago.
    Imagine that.
What was your last name again?
Seems to me it’d be a weekly sighting in a family by that name.

I’ve been to Cape Girardeau several times myself. I remain unimpressed.

I once listened to the Limbaugh show occasionally until the Carter administration when he called Amy Carter, the president’s 14 year old daughter: “The first dog.” I have not listened to his show since. I thought he could not sink any lower. He has managed to outdo himself several times since then and the million$ keep pouring into his pocket.
