Michele Bachmann may have had to pull out of the Republican presidential primary because she couldn’t get more than a handful of even the Republican base to support her candidacy, but she wants you to know that you missed out because she’s really the “perfect candidate.”
The Minnesota congresswoman was asked by Bloomberg TV’s Al Hunt which of the remaining candidates was the most conservative during an interview Friday, and said none of them measured up to her conservative credentials.
“I was. I was the perfect candidate,” Bachmann said in response.
The congresswoman exited the GOP presidential race last month after finishing sixth in the Iowa caucuses — despite hailing from the Hawkeye State originally and winning the Ames straw poll there.
Pressed by Hunt as to which of the candidates still in the race she considered most conservative, Bachmann again responded by referring to herself as the “perfect” choice.
“America had their chance with the perfect candidate,” Bachmann said.
They’re so cute when they’re being utterly delusional. I know I’m stepping out on a limb here, but it seems to me that the perfect candidate should be someone who isn’t an ignorant, insane bigot.

I miss Michele, I really do. The amount of time-space warping stupid coming out the republican primary show is so much lower now. Yea, Rick tries to step up, and is doing a good job of filling the void, but there is just no replacement for natural talent and ability.

“America had their chance with the perfect candidate,” Bachmann said…
Somewhere baby jesus is crying. Boo-hoo!
Oh, but she was the perfect candidate, perfect for getting Obama re-elected.
Also for giving us a really amusing campaign season.
Did Michele learn her Uriah Heep* like humility from the Amphibian?

“… it seems to me that the perfect candidate should be someone who isn’t an ignorant, insane bigot …”
But … but … she’s the perfect candidate for ignorant, insane bigots …
How did she actually say that she was the perfect candidate, what with her thumb in her mouth and all.
So what she’s telling us is that the Republican Party has turned its back on God by rejecting His Chosen?
It sounds like Michele needs to talk it out. Marcus should start an encounter group for defeated Republican candidates and treat them with egotistic conversion therapy, although skeptics claim that arrogance reparation treatment is ineffective, especially with far right conservatives.
So… does she still have a shot at being selected as the VP for the GOP’s ticket in the 2012 race?
She is either promoting herself for VP this year or for another run in 4 years, or both. God told her to run and he couldn’t be wrong, ahe must be perfect for the job.
neonsequitur – Intrade Markets gives her 1 chance in 200.

OK, now I’m in control of my laughter now. I was just envisioning Bachmann, Caine, and Perry in group therapy together, mediated by her husband. Huntsman, if he were there, not so insane, and rolling his eyes at the others.
Copyright this idea, then send it to Saturday Night Live. But wait until Paul and Gingrich finish up for the best effect.
And I’m stuck with 12 gross of Bacmann-Palin bumper stickers.
“America had their chance with the perfect candidate,” Bachmann said. “They had their chance and they blew it. Instead, they laughed at me. Laughed … at …me! But I’ll show them! Oh, yes. I’ll show them ALL! You’ll see!”
And with that Michelle Bachmann threw back her head and gave a loud shout of merriment, upon which she turned and whisked herself away to her underground lair.
But but but she is the most qualified candidate. She’s not a papist or other non-Christian cult, her mastery of science, economics, history, and geography is second to none, you can look her in the eyes to see the purity of her soul, and Marcus would make an excellent First Lady who could hold group hugs with congressional interns in the West Wing. If only those fundigelicals weren’t so sexist.
Whether deliberately or out of delusion, these “fringe” candidates have given Romney undeserved respectability. The media portrays Romney as being unfairly attacked by “extreme” candidates.
If Romney is any better a candidate than Michelle Bachmann, it should be easy to identify a policy difference between them.
Is there one?
If there isn’t, does the fact that she is more eccentric make much difference?
Michelle Bachmann is an honest presentation of far right policy. Mitt Romney is a fake “moderate” coded presentation of far right policy. But if you elect Romney, you get exactly what you would get by electing Bachmann.
“America had their chance with the perfect candidate,” Bachmann said.
Sucks to be us, I guess.
I am sure that, delusions and all, Michele Bachmann is genuine.
Mitt Romney on the other hand is playing himself in a movie about himself. He is utterly fraudulent. I watched him speak and I swear, it’s like he was using the tele-prompter as a mirror to see his own expressions. “Am I handsome, am I convincing, manly, steadfast, above all, am I heroic?” What a fake.
harold, #16: But if you elect Romney, you get exactly what you would get by electing Bachmann.
Except more competent. Which should scare you.
Crap. After her photo-op with one of my favorite bloggers, I was sure she was destined for greatness.
But you see, that’s where you are wrong. Because ALL the Republicans that remain are ignorant insane bigots, that makes her the perfect candidate for them!
…and, fortunately for us, unelectable as a result!
A Bachmann spokesperson later said she and her husband have retired to their private residence and are including Republican leadership in their imprecatory prayers.
“I was the perfect candidate.”
Ah, yes, narcissism and a refusal to actually answer the question (“…which of the REMAINING candidates), all in one five-word sentence. A twofer!

True – her knowledge of these subjects was almost a complete null set.
