Al Stefanelli has all the details on the Rock Beyond Belief event, which will take place at Ft. Bragg on March 31. The unfortunate thing is that the event is only a week after the Reason Rally in Washington, D.C., so many people won’t be able to afford going to both. But if you can make it, this is going to be an amazing and important event. I am really honored to be taking part in it. I’ll be acting as host and emcee, introducing all of the other awesome speakers and performers, which include Richard Dawkins, Hemant Mehta, Roy Zimmerman and many others. Justin Griffith deserves unlimited praise for his hard work putting this event together and I hope to see you all there.

It sounds really cool, and Justin is an awesome advocate. He gets a lot done, like getting a school to stop slipping kids into an evangelical program to give stuff to kids overseas (who conveniently must agree to convert or kiss the asses of evangelicals to get the goodies), and he was on Travis AFB’s nativity display like stink on shit.
It’s getting too difficult for me to go out to things like this anymore, but I hope it gets a lot of people.

I’m near Raleigh, NC, which isn’t far from Fort Bragg. I’d love to find out where folks will be hanging out. Will people need to fly into RDU? Fayetteville only has a little airport.
It would be fun to meet people from FB during this event.

lynnwilhelm-
Stay tuned. I really don’t know the logistics at this point, but I’m sure we’ll be able to have some kind of get together at the event. We’re hoping to have a booth for FTB at the event.

The “Holiday Inn Bordeaux” is where we are going to have the official after party with booze and ‘secular celebrities’.
I’d highly recommend contacting them now before the hotel sells out (we JUST announced the $82/night discount and after party there)

Also worth mentioning (mostly new since Al’s recap):
1) Camp Quest childcare = free, including a place to ‘Walk on Water’ (non-newtonian fluid) in front of the Fort Bragg main chapel.
2) Famous atheists *may* be jumping out of planes in a tandem jump with a professional Army parachute team demonstration. :)

Ed will not be jumping out of a plane with anyone for any reason. Ed is a big scaredy cat.
