Rep. Allen West makes a strong case for the Bryan Fischer Award with this Glenn Beck-level Godwinism, comparing the Democratic Party to the Nazis and throwing in a little faux persecution for good measure.
“If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of the Democrat Party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine. Let’s be honest, you know, some of the people in the media are complicit with this and enabling them to get that type of message out. But let’s be very honest, you have the president, who has an incredible megaphone and a platform, and he has people all across this country believing that the only people on Capitol Hill are House Republicans. He’s not talking anything about his controlled Senate. So, it’s a great propaganda machine. And I have to give him kudos for being able to leverage that.”
Many Democrats are demanding an apology, but that isn’t gonna happen. Not only is West proud of being an ignorant asshole, he has based his whole appeal on being one.

Allen West is yet another Rethuglican who dares not leave the borders of the USA for fear of being arrested and tried for war crimes.

If having a majority within an elected body was all that was required for Democrats to ‘control’ it, the past several years would have been very different.

No, No not just a nominee but the biggest winner of the award of all time, as in the equivalent of winning a Pulitzer, Nobel Prize and American Idol all at the same time.

When did this idiotic “Democrat Party” nonsense get started, and why did it get started in the first place? It’s called the Democratic Party, and it always has been.

Ed, do you still plan to give your readers a chance to vote on the nominees and declare an award winner? I know that you can do polls with WordPress, and since the end of the year is drawing nigh, this might be a good chance to give us just a little more chance to participate in the blog beyond simply commenting. (Just a suggestion.)

“If Joseph Goebbels was around, he’d be very proud of my Goebbels metaphor.”
(a comment I saw on another site that I thought was pretty good)

It’s simply that the Republicans focus-tested the words “democracy” and “democratic” and found them to be too positive. So they want to focus on the word “democrat”, with an emphasis on the ‘cRat’, and make it into a pejorative.
If the other side was as unethical, they’d start referring to Republicans as “conservatives” but in a way that sort of sounds like “cancervatives”. Slightly changing the pronunciation from ‘kun’ to ‘kan’ would be the type of psychological manipulation that fits well with the OP.
