Farah: Palin Should Sue Over Lies I’ve Never Seen

This statement from his latest column tells you pretty much all you need to know about Joseph Farah:

I think Sarah Palin should sue the daylights out of Joe McGinniss and his publisher for their reckless disregard for the truth they showed in his new book –which, for the purpose of this column, shall remain nameless.

No, I have not read the book, nor do I intend to read it.

Then you have no idea what is true and what is not. I don’t either. And I also don’t intend to read it. I have no idea which claims in it are true and which are false. But I’ll make this prediction. Despite her lawyer’s threats, there isn’t a chance in hell that Palin is going to sue McGinnis, for one simple reason: It would open her up to discovery and subpoenas. It’ll never happen.

    Sue, Sarah, Sue!

In particular, she would have to turn over her medical records relative to the alleged birth of her Downs Syndrome child, which she has thus far refused to do.

I have read it. I’ll admit I was a little surprised at how bad a mother she is, but by and large it just details what we already knew about her.

Sarah Palin’s sex life is no more important to me than was Bill Clinton’s. The book’s marginal interest is in how she responds to it, nothing more.

What is important is that she’s unqualified for any executive job based on her inability to finish her AK term of office, her inability to answer difficult but relevant questions, and her admired intellectual laziness. She is a buffoon in search of an audience. I cannot afford the price of admission. Neither can the rest of the country.

  5. MikeMa:

As for Farah raising a stink about lying, he needs to get his own house in order.

Well, that and the extreme standards that public figures must meet in order to prevail in libel suits. To my knowledge, Obama hasn’t sued anybody for libel since he’s been in office, despite their publishing claims that cannot possibly, by definition, be simultaneous true – such as being both an illegal alien and a traitor, a communist czarist, or an Satanic atheist Muslim.

I won’t be reading the book either. As I understand it, McGinniss’s thesis is that Palin is a hypocrite and a fraud whose talents extend no further than parroting inane talking points to her brain-dead supporters.

I did not need an investigative expose to figure that out.

“… their reckless disregard for the truth they showed in his new book …”

“No, I have not read the book, nor do I intend to read it.”

So.. uh.. hey, listen.. do me a favor… point out exactly where in the book they showed their “reckless disregard for the truth”.

… Oh, right, you didn’t read it, so you can’t answer that. Hum.

What? This can of soda is empty but you didn’t open it?

What? This library has no books, but you’ve never been inside it?

What? Mars is blue but you’ve never seen a picture of it?

What? Heaven exists but you’ve never been there?

What? Gays are evil but you refuse to talk to them?

I get it now, this is homeopathic intelligence: the less they know about something, the better they understand it.

    Makes perfect sense.

Sounds like someone’s got very shaky faith, if a little reading is out of the question.

Nadine Gordimer must have been thinking about Farah when she wrote, “The self-sufficiency of his ignorance was awesome.”

As for Silly Sarah suing…. the Streisand Effect, no?

  11. Michael Heath:

If you made a movie of a Sarah Palin-like character the suspension of belief required to believe in such a caricature of the absurd would guarantee the movie would be a flop. The same is true of the creationism defenders in the town of Dover, PA.
