Pat Robertson joins the chorus of stupid:
Robertson: Ladies and gentlemen I don’t want to get weird on this so please take it for what it’s worth. But it seems to me the Washington Monument is a symbol of America’s power, it has been the symbol of our great nation, we look at that monument and say this is one nation under God. Now there’s a crack in it, there’s a crack in it and it’s closed up. Is that a sign from the Lord? Is that something that has significance or is it just result of an earthquake? You judge, but I just want to bring that to your attention. It seems to me symbolic. When Jesus was crucified and when he died the curtain in the Temple was rent from top to bottom and there was a tear and it was extremely symbolic, is this symbolic? You judge.
It seems to me that Pat Robertson’s brain is a symbol of religious right insanity. Now there’s a crack in it. And the earthquake hit his home state. Is this symbolic? You judge.

A phallic shaped object is a symbol of America’s power?

It occurs to me that, while the symbol of American power has a crack in it, the monument to open immigration that stands in New York harbor remains undamaged. How come our ace prophet can’t find a message in that?

What “judgment” – and for what? – did the US receive when that bell cracked, Pat?

Didn’t he predict a big explosion a few years ago, possibly nuclear? When you go that wrong, how can you expect people to keep paying attention to you?

Pat Robertson on the Liberty Bell: “The missing hatch is a sign from gawd!”
Actually, when I look at the Liberty Bell (the bell, not the Mercury spacecraft), I see a similarity to Pat Robertson: both are cracked.

“Judge not, lest ye be judged”. Pat should try to find a Christian and ask her where that came from.
Back in the St. Ronnie days, Pat claims to have prayed a hurricaine away from Virginia and into Long Island, where he stated there were no Christians. Was Pat invoking his true Lord, the Prince of the Powers of the Air, Satan? Just speculating. Then again, since he is now asking his readers/listeners to “judge”, who does he believe he is working for?

Okay Pat, I’ll judge. The crack in the Washington monument is just the result of a fucking earthquake, you moron!

Wasn’t the national cathedral the most heavily damaged building in D.C. ?

Extremely, yes, as in only symbolic. It’s a bit of literary symbolism in a literary narrative having no basis in fact.
I wonder what Pat thinks the rending of the curtain was supposed to be symbolic of?

Pat Robertson:
I agree with Mr. Robertson the monument seeks to project national power given the Washington monument is apparently a phallic symbol. But the only way to force God into our description of this monument’s symbolism, even a Christian Nation revisionist description, would be to claim the monument conveys we’re, “one nation under God’s dick”.

Yes, but you have to understand, it’s an Episcopal Cathedral, and therefore part of the spirit of the Antichrist, so it doesn’t count.
“You say you’re supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don’t have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist.” Pat Robertson 700 Club

According to the fundamentalists in the comments of news sites and on YouTube, the Monument is evil and pagan (Ra etc.). They are even sad that it still stands. So Pat is still “sane” in comparison.
