This would make me so happy:

Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, is considering a run against U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur in 2012, according to Republican Party sources.

Jon Stainbrook, chairman of the Lucas County Republican Party, said there is “high-level interest in the national Republican Party” in a potential Wurzelbacher candidacy.

“We are encouraging Joe to run,” Mr. Stainbrook said. “He hasn’t made any official decision yet.”

I’ll be praying for this to happen.

Meh. The chance of anyone having a significant chance against Marcy is low. The chance of someone blatantly anti-union winning an election in Toledo is… beyond low.

The problem is that Joethefuckstainwithlegsandlips NOT the plumber makes any slightly less completely unqualified assholes seem legitimate.

“He goes hunting with Sarah Palin. He’s friends with Ann Coulter.”

These are reasons to ridicule someone, or actively avoid their company, not to vote for them. I shudder to imagine the mindest at which this comment is aimed.

A damning indictment if I ever read one. And that goes in both directions. O_o

Indeed, democommie. I’ve been unfortunate enough to actually have some interaction with Stainbrook in the past, and he is definitely among the most worthless, loathsome people I’ve ever even heard of, let alone met. I am sort of morbidly curious to see a “debate” between Kaptur and “Joe”, though.

Ask the average voter “A highly educated communist with a Phd in economics and biology or a high school drop-out, trailer-trash, fundamentalist christian”. The winner is; dumb-ass christian. Granted, these are extremes, but not by much.

Including Marcy Kaptur, who herself is a good demonstration of the problem with gerrymandered districts.
