So new that as of this writing, they are not yet listed on the EvolveFish site, but I assure you, they exist and they are beautiful! And the service is uncannily good–my order, for instance, was shipped and received before I even ordered it (indeed, before I knew it could be ordered!
Here they are, swimming with my original Lassiter cuttlefish. They can even pretend to change color like a real cuttlefish–all you have to do is give them a different color to reflect. Cheating, I know, but what ya gonna do?
As soon as they are on the website, I’ll link to it–for now, I suspect that if you order by phone or email, they will know exactly what you are talking about; the EvolveFish people have been utterly delightful and tremendously helpful in all my interactions with them.
Next step… lapel pins. Then, world domination!
Courtesy of Ray (rude-ass yankee), the latest pics of the cuttlefish emblem in the wild. After the jump, in deference to those who have them there RSS feeds or whatever. (Ok, the truth is I don’t even know what an RSS feeder is, or even if that is what it is called, and I really don’t know if keeping pics below the jump is helpful to them, but my poor memory tells me that I heard, once upon a time, that it’s the right thing to do. If anyone knows, please let me know, and I will try to do the right thing.) Anyway… [Read more…]
Yay, a milestone! The first pic of a Cuttlefish sticker on the car of a reader! Thanks, niftyatheist!

Nice. Better than nice–that’s beautiful–gorgeous. I love it. (Yes, as of this writing, the attribution is still wrong–the original is by Mike McRae, modified by me–Kris Ryan had nothing to do with it.) Now, as the cephalopod who holds the copyright, all I want to know is… Do I get a discount?
Hey! When you get yours and put it on your car/bike/computer/office door/refrigerator/pet/congressperson/olympic gold medal/Tour de France Yellow Jersey/post-it-note, send it here, and I’ll (unless you don’t want me to–please let me know) broadcast it to the world!
Update: Here’s the link to the product page. (currently they have the image mis-attributed; Mike McRae is, of course, the designer of the Cuttlefish With Quill, and I modified it for the emblem myself.)
The one thing I was not expecting was that they would read it and comment:
I think we can have a vinyl cutout version of this on EvolveFISH.com by Wednesday noon. If there is strong demand, we can have an injection molded version in 5 weeks.
Shit just got real.
I know *I* want this to happen. If it does, of course, I expect my original (the Lassiter version) to be added to the Smithsonian collections… or something.
