Happy Birthday, Freethought Blogs!

That’s right, one year ago today, we went live. And promptly crashed. And soon overloaded our server, and were frustratingly slow… and replaced equipment, and got better.

And got bigger. From an initial five bloggers, we now have some 36 blogs, some with multiple contributors or guest bloggers. I’ve found more new must-reads than I have time to read, and my world has expanded, in terms of topics, in terms of issues, in terms of geographic and political boundaries. I thank all of my fellow bloggers, and wish all of us much continued success.

And I just noticed. I have averaged just under one new verse of some sort a day. Some days with none (or with a re-run), but some days with two or three. I don’t have time at the moment, but now I have to go see which were my favorites.

So thank you, all of you, my readers, commenters, fellow bloggers, and especially Ed and PZ. And many happy returns!

Yay, Freethoughtblogs started on my birthday! That is awesome. Now I have something else to add to my list of awesome things that were started on my birthday.

    Yay, Happy Birthday!

I read FTB from pretty much its inception as a rather new atheist, so it’s kinda the anniversary of the start of my own journey into secular humanism, sex-positivism, feminism, and LGBTQ rights, too. Thanks FTB!

Happy Birthday and congrats to one and all. Hopefully Freethought Blogs will continue to grow and educate. Thank-you everyone.

A year? Already? It doesn’t seem like it. I remember all the teething problems, but was dedicated enough to wait until it all got sorted out.
Man, has it been worth it! A day without FreeThoughtBlogs is like a day without sunshine for me now*.

*No offense to folks at the poles who go 6 months without sunshine*

You are one of the invertebrate crown jewels of the FTB group; may your tenure here last for many more ‘net years (which are shorter than sidereal years). Eventually the fossil record will make the chronology clear.

    Just saw this – congrats!

    > I’ve found more new must-reads than I have time to read,

Hoo, yeah. And the bad thing is, I know coming here will be a time-sink, and there will be multiple blogs I’ll feel compelled to click on, and multiple posts on each that I’ll feel compelled to read… and yet, I click the bookmark anyway.

    Thanks for being here!
