Look The Other Way, Redux

Via Ed, yet another establishment clause violation, and another group of privileged people helpfully telling us to look the other way so we aren’t offended by their breaking the law.

When the people face the loss of their local civic cross
They will gather in a circle and they’ll pray
Though it’s twenty-six feet tall, you can hear the common call:
“You don’t like it, then just look the other way!”…

Look (look the other way), the other way (look the other way)
And the problem will appear to go away (look the other way)
If you shut your eyes and ears, then the problem disappears
It’s so simple when you look the other way (the other way)

When this Indiana town heard they had to take it down
Or a lawsuit would be filed, and they would pay
They could hem and they could haw, but they must obey the law
What they cannot do is look the other way!

Look (look the other way), the other way (look the other way)
And the problem will appear to go away (look the other way)
If you shut your eyes and ears, then the problem disappears
It’s so simple when you look the other way (the other way)

And on every comment thread, hate will rear its ugly head
(That’s no different, though, from any other day)
Where the brilliant legal scholars scream “’In God We Trust’ on dollars!—
Throw your money out and look the other way!”

Look (look the other way), the other way (look the other way)
And the problem will appear to go away (look the other way)
If you shut your eyes and ears, then the problem disappears
It’s so simple when you look the other way (the other way)

In the war ‘twixt church and state, it’s the atheists who hate
Cos they want the constitution, so they say,
When the good book has sufficed, and our country built on Christ,
And historians just look the other way

Look (look the other way), the other way (look the other way)
And the problem will appear to go away (look the other way)
If you shut your eyes and ears, then the problem disappears
It’s so simple when you look the other way (the other way)

If you make us move the cross, then our message is a loss
it must stand upon the public right of way.
For we dare not make a stand, on a private strip of land
if the gub’mint doesn’t tell us how to pray!

Fascinating that they diss the Constitution and its supporters so openly. I thought they would at least try to hide it.

When you make a legal fuss, why do you look at *us*?

It’s in our constitution, so you say?

Scrunch it in a paper ball, for lately after all

The White House screwed it every other way!
