    Oh! Oh! Was that Eugenie beside PZ? That lucky devil. I am straight but i have the biggest girl crush on that woman.

    Oops! Der. I started to post the second one as the first one when I was posting, and corrected myself. But so then I posted the first one as the second one…as well as the first. Honestly!

    I just noticed (after watching the video comment about the end of the world) that Eschaton was using the “world ending in Dec 2012” as a kind of icon.
    Umm, their icon is an Aztec sun calendar, not a Mayan calendar. The Maya wrote their dates in columns, usually on stele.

    Hypatia’s daughter @ 2 – yes it is. I wanted to say a bashful hi to her myself but I never quite got the chance. We exchanged a laugh over the awkward crush at the coffee urns, but that was it. I passed her in the dinosaur gallery at the museum Saturday evening, talking to a bunch of enthralled admirers. Science education in action – it was nice.

    That’s Larry Moran on PZ’s other side. Great guy.

    @4: Yes, thanks. We were informed of that. About six months too late….

    I’ll take the blame for being the one who believed the results of a Google search, back last February or so :-(.

    @Ophelia

    Aww should have said hi. I know I was saying bashful hello’s to people.

    @Eamon

    Take solace in the fact that you’re not the first to get screwed by google image search 😛 .

    Michael – I would have if I’d had the chance! It’s just that the coffee urn crush wasn’t it, and I never crossed her path apart from that. That always happens. I never quite managed to say hello to Susan Jacoby or Jennifer Michael Hecht at Women in Secularism, either, and omigod the people I missed saying hi to at QED – Steve Jones, David Aaronovitch, Edvard Ernst, Simon Singh – just off the top of my head; there are more.
