Awwww department. Two gorilla brothers are re-united after the older one, silverback Kesho, had been taken away for stud duties. The Beeb has a slide show. Awww. Those faces they’re making – those are “play-faces.” The lips cover the teeth.
Awww.

Or worked in a zoo nursery! Which I once did. Juvenile apes are adorable.

I can’t believe I went to Longleat a few months ago, was there for 8 hours, and still didn’t manage to get down to the lake to see the gorillas! And the sea lions. And the Hippos. And who knows what else I missed? To think that I scoffed at the concept of a two-day pass… I suppose it’s the perils of going somewhere with a 5-year-old who might want to go and play in the adventure playground and boring stuff like that.

Oh that’s too bad! Gorillas are pretty unboring.

I sometimes wonder: in a hypothetical fight between a gorilla and a bear, who would win?

I love, love, love gorillas, they’re such fascinating creatures
I had the great fortune of my most beloved husband watching over our two brats feeding the goats while I could go down and see the gorillas when we wnet to a zoo recently.
Funny enough, the two gorilla-kids I watched there behaved exactly like my kids, too. With the difference of being able to hang upside down from the ropes.

Ha, so you could have just stuck with your own kids!
I’m not really complaining. I got some great photos of one of the tigers, and I saw the baby anteater, which was cute beyond words. Anyway, what it means is that I’ll have to go back another time…!

Ditto about gorillas. I worked in Woodland Park zoo’s gorilla unit for awhile.

Does anyone else think of Justin Bieber rather than the BBC when someone says “the beeb?”
Because my first thought was: Why does Justin Bieber have a slideshow about gorillas on his website?
And my second thought was: Why does Ophelia follow Justin Biebers website?

The pictures are so touching. I had to get out my hanky. Sniff Sniff. “Gorilla Joy” is my watchword of the day.
