Good about Anderson Cooper, huh?
I’ve also been reminded recently that while as a society we are moving toward greater inclusion and equality for all people, the tide of history only advances when people make themselves fully visible. There continue to be far too many incidences of bullying of young people, as well as discrimination and violence against people of all ages, based on their sexual orientation, and I believe there is value in making clear where I stand.
Yep, and the same applies to atheists. Boy do young atheists get bullied in this country. Any hidden Name atheists out there? Speak up!
Anderson himself (he doesn’t mind if I call him Anderson, does he? I’ve considered him a close personal friend ever since he interviewed my friend Josh, so he can’t mind) ends with some ooky god-talk, which is unfortunate, but still – good about what Anderson said to Andrew.

The tides come in, the tides go out – never a miscommunication.
You can’t explain that!

Proclaiming himself gay and atheist might be right out of his comfort zone, if he were an atheist.

He was atheist when he was born, just like everyone else.

Sarah AB. I agree, I didn’t like that article at all either. It should be left up to individuals to come out if that is something they are comfortable with. It is not appropriate for tattle-tale journalists to out them. But it is good that he has taken hiS outing in a grown-up way and has not tried to half-lie himself back under cover again. Still don’t think this says anything good about Brian Moylan.

As a hidden, non-Name atheist, I have to say, if I saw bullying, I would do my best to put a stop to it. My child has been subjected to bullying, at the age of five no less, and it doesn’t really get better. Hir bullying was mild, but no less upsetting to hir.

For normal people, yes. Anyone who’s made the sexlives of others their career, has voided any right to keep their own hanky-panky private.

Yes! I did a post on that when it aired (which was a long time after it was taped).

That came off wrong.
You’re still adorable Josh.
