More from that bottomless file, The Evil Deeds of the Catholic Church. This time it’s in the Netherlands.

Government inspectors were aware that minors were being castrated while being looked after in Catholic-run psychiatric institutions, local paper the Limburger reported on Monday.

The NRC reported on Saturday at least one boy under the age of 16 was castrated to ‘help’ his homosexual feelings while in Catholic church care in the 1950s.

But there are indications at least 10 other boys were also castrated, the NRC reported on Saturday. The claims were not included in the Deetman report on sexual abuse within the Catholic church which was published at the end of last year.

The paper says the one confirmed case concerned a boy – Henk Heithuis – who reported being sexually abused by priests to the police in 1956. After giving evidence, he was placed in a Catholic-run psychiatric institution where he was then castrated because of his ‘homosexual behaviour’.

Holy sweet hopping christ on a griddle – he was what where he was what because of what?

He was placed in a Catholic-run psychiatric institution where he was then castrated because of his ‘homosexual behaviour’.

Oh my god.

The paper says the Deetman committee was informed about the castrations in writing but did not include mention of them in its report because ‘there were few leads for further research’.

The Deetman committee was set up by the church itself in 2010 after the sexual abuse scandal broke. It reported in December having identified some 800 priests and monks who abused children in their care between 1945 and 1985.

MPs are now calling for a full parliamentary investigation into the abuse scandal because of concerns about the neutrality of the Deetman inquiry. Govenment MPs and the anti-immigration PVV have so far blocked calls for a formal inquiry, the NRC said on Monday.

And these are the people who want to tell us all what to do, and impose their warped ideas about sex and contraception and abortion on all of us, and “fight militant secularism” with the help of other reactionary theocrats around the globe.

Can you say “whitewash”, boys and girls? I knew you could.

So much injustice done by this one organization. I can’t understand why anyone who cares about their fellow human beings would remain part of that organization upon learning that it has committed horrors such as this one where boys were forcibly castrated.

    Why am I even surprised?

What on earth made me think we had heard the worst of this organisations crimes?

Now I just have to wonder what vile revelation comes next.

But beyond that, they seriously let the church investigate its own crimes? are you kidding me?

The boys got castrated. The priests didn’t have anything happen to them other than be transferred to a new parish which had new victims.

…let me get this straight, the *raped boys* are supposedly homosexuals but the priests who did the raping don’t get punished? How the heck does this jibe with calling homosexuals dangerous perverts who want to destroy marriage and convert all the children?

…Can we just declare all gay folks to be ordained clergy so the Catholics will leave them alone? *headexplodes*

“Government MPs and the anti-immigration PVV”
You might be interested in the fact that the VVD, the biggest party in Dutch parliament, from which prime-minister Rutte stems, and the PVV, who supports the Dutch government without contributing ministers and states of secretary, are both firmly non-religious. Both VVD and PVV are pro-choice (even the christian government party CDA is), pro contraception (the CDA is too) and pro gay-marriage (but here CDA has some doubts, albeit not against the possibility itself).
    So you write ignorant nonsense:

“these are the people who want to tell us …..”

Yeah. Go tell that Rutte and Wilders. If they have overcome their shock they will laugh you in your face.
Why don’t you just check a few facts about The Netherlands? Like that you don’t have to be christian/religious to be right wing in this country? That actually quite a few christians (Jan Buskes) were/are left-wing? And I don’t mean it in the American meaning of the word (for most Dutch Obama is right-wing as well). I mean those good old, despised in the USA socialists.
For the record: me being left-wing as well am firmly opposed to both Rutte and Wilders. I just can’t stand nonsense.

So why bother to find out? I mean, it’s not as though it was anything serious.

Lock them up. That’s what I think. Lock them all up. 800 priests? Eight hundred sexual monsters?? The mind doesn’t just boggle, it questions, demands, seriously WHY these people have any credibility at all. And then, actually CASTRATING people?! What is the definition of insane, if we have to accept that these vicious misbegotten evil cretins are our moral exemplars? Aren’t Irish laundries enough? “Of course” (as the chrétiens would say) “christianity exists because we are simply evil and need redemption.” Pity it makes no difference whatever; pity it seems to make things even worse. Pity it seems to be an excuse for excess of vice and stupidity. Pity that the mere label “christian” immunises it from condemnation as downright vicious and criminally insane.

Yeah. Go tell that Rutte and Wilders.

“These are the people” refers to the Catholic Church, not to Dutch politicians.

    I just can’t stand nonsense.

    I feel your pain.

    @7:

Nevertheless, the VVD has come under suspicion of pandering to small right-wing, christian parties in exchange for votes in parliament (shops opening on Sundays etc.). And then there is the continuous harping on our ‘Judeo-Christian heritage’ by Wilders.

Religious or not, they still know a good tool when they see it, and they are not afraid to use it.

Maybe you can check a few facts about the Netherlands as well.
