Flying Spaghetti Monster Jack-O-Lantern

I’m very proud of what’s adorning my balcony right now! My roommate purchased a nice sized pumpkin for Halloween – I drew the design, and she did the carving. I think it came out pretty nice!
Hurray for Flying Spaghetti Monster jack-o-lanterns!. His eyes are kind of falling apart, though. I blame the horrible infestation of lady bugs in West Lafayette (seriously, you can’t walk outside without being covered in them) that are apparently munching away at His Noodliness. Blasphemy!

Jen,Extremely small delicate cuts for jack-o-lanterns dry out and fall away very easily. If you didn't this time, cover it in petroleum jelly (not too much, don't want the pumpkin to combust!) on the outer face and the cut bits. That should help hold in the moisture and keep the parts strong and healthy (well a dead kind of healthy) for Halloween.

I may end up doing something similar, but I was thinking of drying out the noodle-like guts and splaying them out from the holes.

At any rate, looks pretty sweet!

It's nice to know the ladybugs are enjoying climes other than Ames, Iowa. Enjoy them while they last.

Nice! I've just been inspired for my own pumpkin carving :)

Also, you sure they're ladybugs and not those weird imposter lady-bugs that bite people?
