Oh yeah? Well our atheist club has superheros for officers!

I finally got around to doing a little housecleaning around the Society of Non-Theists’s website. Freshmen should start poking around for club information in a couple weeks, so I wanted to make it look like we actually do stuff (which we do!). And I finally got around to updating the Contact page with some officer bios so it looks like we’re actually normal (well, relatively) human beings with actual personalities.

It amuses me to no end that we have a blonde, brunette, and red head. It’s so delightfully stereotypical. I keep having images of Charlie’s Angels or the Power Puff Girls or any superheroine trio. And having three women as officers is definitely going to help club attendance – girls will feel welcome, and boys well…yeah, I don’t need to explain why boys will come.

Now if I can only convince my fellow officers that we all need matching spandex outfits…then club attendance would increase by 1000%.*

*If I hear about people contacting the officers in order to be creepy instead of real club business, I will smite you.

    I would like to state that the original idea for the spandex outfits and perversion was all mine, thank you.

    (Please?)

    Damn Stanford's atheist club for being male-dominated. Damn it to hell… wait a minute.

    (Semi-relatedly, last night the activities director for aforementioned Stanford's atheist club sent out a call for volunteers for a bunch of random things, I was drunk last night, so I seem to recall sending a totally hyperactive "I'll do everything!" e-mail! It was not, however, because of boobies.)

    Boys always come when there's girls involved. I don't know what it is, but everything I like seems male-dominated. I don't like it (stupid competition), but then again, I guess you have to deal with it.

    Can we contact officers to be creepy if real club business is involved?

    Veritas: And with reason. It's hard to find girls that are members of certain minority interest groups… Cheerleaders are a dime a dozen, Atheists are a dime a, erm, hundred or so. Well, to quote Richard Thompson, "I've got the hots for the smarts".

    P.S. I feel the need to mention that the first line was meant to be ironic. Thanks.

    Kris: Oh, I understand. I just wish things were different. I do oft wonder why secularism seems to have the same proportion of women as role-playing games do, though. Bothers me more than a little. All well.

    Where I was at school, we were quite lucky. The guy who was running our society was damn good looking, which meant we had more women than average – about one in three. Which is a titanically huge percentage given my normal experience.

    Yeah. I hear that, Veritas. Very annoying. Of course, I tend to not get along with guys outside of the Internet in the first place, so it's even worse. I'm a thoroughly disagreeable person at the start, and slowly grow to tolerate folks.

    Rather annoying, but I see no reason to change it.

    So the club attendance would increase from 30 to 330? That….would be quite a feat. I’m not a huge fan of spandex myself. I can see the appeal to it, but I can only imagine that it would chaff terribly. More of a miniskirt guy myself…*holds shoulder out for a well-deserved punch* <.<;
