Throw away post, sorry.
I’m starting to feel the effects of sleep, and I still have at least seven hours of blogging left. Usually 2 am doesn’t affect me like this, but I woke up at 7am and I’ve slept like crap the last three days. I think I can stay awake, but the hard part is actually coming up with coherent thoughts. Before I was ahead by a half hour, now I feel like I have about 15 minutes a post because I’m starting to move slower and slower.
So, suggestions? Caffeine? Running around to music? Giving up and letting my inner insanity take over my posts?
PS: Lost at the art contest, aw. Oh well.

Take a shower? Put up the music. More caffeine, more direct injections of it.
Go nuts, go wild, do whatever you need to do to keep moving.

At least you get to go to bed when it's done.
I hope.

Brighter lighting helps me when I need to pull all-nighters.
Tricks my body into thinking it's morning/lunchtime rather than 3 am, meaning it stops producing so much melatonin, etc…
The usual energetic music/etc suggestions will probably help to, but you'll have gotten them 10 times before I hit "post comment" :P Crank the lights up, turn on a lamp, have some fruit(some sugar, but not likely to draw all your blood to your digestive system and make you even more tired like a heavy meal would)

Cold Shower, Video Gaming will do it too, just play some Civ 4, and about the time it comes to drop a new post, simply alt+tab and when you are done back to telling China to shove it because you have horsemen and Christianity on your side. And that they can take themselves and their taoist spearmen back to the mountains they belong.

You know, Kassul, I actually prefer a large breakfasty-meal. Bacon, eggs, hashbrowns. It kicks me in the pants.

… Now I want to play Civ4. CURSE YOU! Now I will be lost to the winds!
As for meals, smaller ones do me better, because big ones make me sleepy.
Light makes me sleepy too, actually.

Jen, calm down. I have two monitors. I have your blog up, and some colonists, colonizing the new world.

I usually go for a longish bike ride or run. It wakes you up and, bonus, gives you time to think about what you're going to write.

I find that brushing my teeth really helps me wake up. Someone suggested it in '07 and I tried it – works like a charm. Showering is also good, especially if it's a cool one. Other than that, getting up and moving helps. Dance, sing, keep yourself occupied.
