So today I went with a couple of friends to the gym. Ohhhhh boy. To give you some perspective, the last time I jogged/ran/did any sort of real physical activity was in my high school freshman gym class six years ago. Well, I played golf competitively through high school, but walking for 5 hours with a heavy bag on your back is only good for so much. It kept my weight down but I was still a weakling.
So, yeah. Today was a little rough. I’m going to predict that I’m going to be very sad when I try to get out of bed tomorrow morning and all I can do is roll onto the floor. My 15 minute walk to lab will be fun. Of course, this is exactly why I need to exercise – because I’m hideously out of shape and I’ve gained about 10 pounds in the last year. I know I’m still within the normal weight range for my height, and I by no means look fat, but there’s this little nagging voice in my head saying “If you don’t get in shape now it’s all downhill from here.” My friend promises me he’ll make a regimen for me that will avoid my boobs. Because really, I’ll be sad if the first thing to go are my D cups instead of my…well, anything else, really.
Hmmm, now that I think of it, my weight gain is perfectly correlated with a decline in sex, and the 3 pounds I’ve lost in the last month are…well, you understand. I guess what I really need is some sexercising. I think that’s a work out regimen we can all agree on.

Just in case you aren’t kidding about losing boob fat:
So what? I think humans are inclined to be more attracted to proportion than disproportion. If you lose some inches on your waist, but none on your bust, you might look worse. Considering your cup size, I wouldn’t worry whatsoever about any losses you sustain.
It’s all about proportion.

It amuses me that you have a label specifically for “boobs”.

Well I have a sort of large frame, so losing weight probably won’t change my proportions that much. It’ll just be less squishy.
Honestly I’m just cheap, and I don’t want to waste all the new D cup bras I just bought.

If it is any consolation, the pain probably won’t really kick in tomorrow – DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) usually only kicks in hard on the second day!!

Unfortunately targeted weight loss is one of many weight loss myths. You can’t decide from which body parts you burn fat. :(

Yea, shame the first thing to go is usually the last thing you want to.
Take up strength training and use free weights over machines (machines are junk for the most part.) You won’t bulk up if you don’t eat enough to gain weight (and if you do, atleast it will be muscle over fat, or at least not all fat if you eat a whoooole lot).

Why all this talk about exercising when we all know that 80% of weight loss is diet?
Last time I checked, 100% of weight loss is net loss of calories. Control yourself with those vomit-inducing chocolate pies…wait…

My understanding(limited though it is) is that dieting is a very strong factor in strictly losing weight Jeremiah, but that building some muscle mass via exercise will raise the number of calories your body burns at rest. That will help maintain that trim look even if you resume eating more calories than would feature in a typical diet.

Jeremiah: “I think humans are inclined to be more attracted to proportion than disproportion. If you lose some inches on your waist, but none on your bust, you might look worse.”Thank you! I’ve been saying this for years. Huge tits on a tiny body = yeeeuugh! Of course, tiny people creep me out, period. I seriously question the mental state of anyone who is sexually attracted to someone the same size/weight of an eleven-year-old.
