I have not heard the prophecies thing in a while. I always like to ask if there are some prophecies that have not happened yet I can look forward to. Somehow there never are, they always seem to need to be retro-fitted to work. So tricky to actually test these things, imagine that.
Not what I would call “irrefutable”. Too bad time ran out before a proper take-down could be executed. The biblical morality counters were excellent, the practice shows.

Well, I certainly think Matt’s a little overrated, but then again, anyone getting his kind of praise would be, so I’ll let him keep the presidency for now, as long as Josh can come out to play once in a while.

There are other, more lightweight programs that can download podcasts. I used to use WinAmp for Windows, but now my Android is the only podcast receiver I ever use, so I use the paid version of BeyondPod.

I used to use winamp but when I changed computers it started giving me troubles. I slowly stopped using it and just went back to getting them off the sites themselves. Might try getting it working again, I’m just going with Itunes cause I’m fairly sure it’ll work (which it is just started listening). Anyway thanks for the advice

This file in particular may be corrupt (the NPR link). I usually listen through Chrome (that has a built in mp3 player), but it’s not liking this one.
I’m subscribed through iTunes too, so it’s not a big deal.

The file is not corrupt.
Chrome won’t play the link directly but you can download the file by right clicking and “save link as..’ then playing it back in your media player of choice once downloaded.
I downloaded it direct to my android device from the link also.

I saw the same problem in Chrome, but after a few minutes the file downloads fully and then starts playing. Could the problem be with the size of the file? I can’t think what else it might be.

In NPR there was a passing reference to a game Lynnea made. Is this available for public consumption? I can see being reluctant to advertise on this kind of forum, but perhaps a link/post on her own blog? A Google search for “10th plague of Egypt” yields too many results for me to try and wade through.
I suspect I am not the only interested party here.

Hmm, I’m having problems with the latest NPR as well. Everything SEEMS to work fine – no problems loading the podcast or downloading it – but it’s just an hour and a half of silence. I tried it on the NPR website, iTunes, and downloading it, to no avail.
Bummer.

Guy P. Harrison was a great guest!
I’d love it if the Atheist Experience crew would tape a couple bonus episodes and release them on YouTube. Rather than take phone calls, you could address FAQs and discuss important points from books like “50 Reasons People Give for Believing in a God” or a Dawkins book or Harris book.
(Your current videos are great, but it would be awesome to point people who are new to atheism to an introductory series.)
Finally, Guy made a great point about the term “God”.

Ugh, that dude with the odious defense of divinely-mandated slavery! “People become more humble and obedient when they’re being beaten as slaves! Obedient to god!” So in other words, this deity is so horrible that it has to cause its chosen people to live in forced servitude and beaten into submission before they’ll obey him. Endless love and boundless compassion this is not…
