    “All lives don’t matter,” can be rephrased as, “No lives matter,” which in terms of the greater universe is undoubtedly true, but I don’t think is what’s meant here.

    I think what’s meant is “Not all lives matter,” which implies that some do and some don’t, and which is exactly the problem our society is currently having. I won’t say “wrestling with,” because obviously altogether too many people are fine with the way things are.

    Sorry, poorly placed “nots” are a pet peeve of mine because they lead to perfectly grammatical semantic errors.
