Dennis Terry Tosses a Monkey Wrench, Santorum Spews to Downplay It

American is a Christian Nation!

While Dennis Terry is a “respected” voice amongst Rick Santorum’s conservative base, it probably was a bad idea to have a recordable media device at any event where both men should meet. Thankfully there was and hilarity has ensued.

Dennis Terry delivered a heartwarming introduction of Mr. Santorum:

“If you don’t love America, If you don’t like how we [conservative evangelical Christians] do things. I have one thing to say. GET OUT” [Read more…]

Limbaugh Fo-Pologizes

Somehow Rush blames Liberals for his liable of Sandra Fluke.

When I am going out for lunch I normally tune into AM talk radio so I can soak up how those on other side of the political spectrum view issues. I caught Rush on day two of the Sandra Fluke story. He was venomous in his relentless and wall-to-wall attacks and I began to wonder why he was spending so much time on the issue. Clearly, he is not obsessed with lady parts. In my opinion, Rush’s actions significantly impacted the Republican position in the contraception debate, and not positively.

In America, the Religious freedom position is politically tenable although a position of last resort. Remember that in the end days of Slavery and Jim Crow the Religious Freedom argument was brought forth and even today the tactic is used in defense of in-defendable Intelligent Design, among other issues. The Republicans might have held the debate if they stayed on target with the RF position despite the Democrat’s protests. That is, of course, Rush started to talk about Sandra Fluke. [Read more…]

I Love my Uncle but, Newt Hates Him

Medina Valley Independent School District settles prayer case, Republicans surprise no one by flipping out.

My Uncle, Federal Judge Fred Biery, is a badass. Last June, he waded into a particularly religious area of small town “Real America” Texas and smacked down the overt proselytizing that had pervaded the Medina School District. Yet, as Fred executed his duty to uphold the tenants of the constitution, members of the political right used his completely unsurprising ruling to fan the flames of Christian “repression” ( Help, Help, I’m being repressed).

Newt “Moon Base” Gingrich was especially blood thirsty as he tried to reassert his conservative credentials, trying to keep his election hopes afloat despite the rising tides of Santorum after the results in Missouri, Colorado, and Minnesota.

Newt called Fred an “anti-religious, dictatorial bigot.” Which makes complete sense as Fred continues the proud tradition of the Biery clan. A family that has done nothing but turn out District Attorneys, Federal Judges, civic servants, teachers, and combat veterans since WWII. So clearly my family is a bunch of hippie, communistic shitbags. I am getting a little sick of having my family name, which is not too common, being said with vehement disdain by the likes of Beck, Gingrich, Rush, et all. [Read more…]

Dead Kittens

The side effects of American Politics.

I believe most Americans are unsettled by how vehement our political discussion frequently gets. Occasionally the seething pot of hatred +1 boils over and something sad happens. This is one of those times. Sometimes the event makes us all step back, if only for a second, and pontificate on all the politically biased bile we all too often spew at each other. This will probably not be one of those times. [Read more…]

The Troll Behind the Banner

The author of the Cranston High School Prayer is pissed.

So about 60 years ago, there was this guy named David and he went to Cranston High. There was a contest and something that David wrote was put on a wall. Swing forward to today and that thing David wrote was now having the opposite effect it was supposed to. For David’s goal was to unify the school, so he choose one of the two things that people by and large had in common, he choose God.

But the world has changed since the early 1960’s, and one student now felt very isolated because of David’s work. Upon hearing this, are we to think that David took the students concerns to heart? After all, “His prayer, [David] noted, is based on civility, intelligence and common decency.”

Nope. [Read more…]

Taking It to the Grave

Deceased Connecticut woman faces exhumation amid religious and racial issues.

When Juliet Steer finally succumbed to lymphoma, her brother dutifully and loving carried our Juliet’s final wishes. She had been a devoted Christian in life but wanted to be buried in the Jewish manner, under the same traditions that Jesus had been buried with. She had even found a Jewish cemetery with an interfaith section separated by a road from the Jewish section that would accommodate those wishes. When she passed, her brother, Paul, arranged the ceremony and tearfully said good bye to a family member.

Despite the cemetery’s 2009 policy on interfaith burials, one cemetery board member has taken issue with Juliet’s presence on the grounds. Maria Balaban has sued both Paul Steer and her own congregation on the grounds that Juliet had no ties to Judaism. [Read more…]

Ron Paul Loves Mass Effect

Paul attempts to turn video game’s back-story into reality through the liberal application of bullshit.

So there I was, Assassin Shepherd, trying to help out a friend via a dangerous game of breaking an entering and theft on Planet Bekerstein in the Serpent Nebula. My partner and I have just disabled multiple levels of security as we descended towards the now unsecured vault below on a whisper silent turbo lift.

The doors open to reveal the treasures within and its not what we expect. The severed head of Lady Liberty is suspended before us, the copper green head millions of light years from the rest of the reconstructed statue back on Earth.

A testament that Ron Paul was right, all those years ago. [Read more…]

Congress Sets Record

The new gold standard in disdain.

Congress’ approval rating has sunk to a new all-time record low, with just 11% of Americans approving of the job our elected legislature is doing. Which means Congress’ supporters have dwindled down to blood relatives and their favorite lobbyists, thankfully for the congressmen and women there are so many lobbyists working in D.C. these days that their approval ratings can’t possibly get much lower. The Endorsement Newt Doesn’t Want

Adultery centric dating site, Ashley Madison, endorses the cheating-prone candidate.

In my benign travels around the internet (read: porn), I have stumbled across occasional advertisements for Ashley Madison, an internet dating service geared to those who are already in a relationship. But now, the site which gets about 700,000 unique visits a month has finally found a candidate they can get in bed with, behind the backs of the other candidates of course.

The dating service recently put of a billboard proclaiming the beginning of the “Ashley Madison era”, where an admitted multiple adulturer can be the Republican front-runner. [Read more…]

Birthers: If You Can’t Make a Story, Fabricate It

WND reports on Birther banner as if they didn’t do it, then reports on people reporting WND’s reports about the banner reportedly flown by WND.

WND has pulled out all the stops while trying to keep the myth of Obama being a foreign national alive. Their latest attempt was to fly a banner (pictured below) over Arlington’s Cowboys Stadium during a football game. I think their intention was to squeeze the last drops of controversy from the zombie lie. Sadly for WND, no major media outlet paid the banner much mind.

But that won’t stop WND. The website soon penned an article about the banner and wrote it in such a way as to not give themselves credit. Only the picture itself and a quote from Joseph Farah tied the handiwork of WND to WND itself. [Read more…]
