Catch Up with DEFCON

Hey Kids, I’m back from catching up with my work load in the wake of Rock Beyond Belief and the recent 4 day holiday. The feeling of a clean inbox is a satisfying one indeed. Regular updates will resume tomorrow but, I wanted to highlight an interesting speech from DEFCON 19. My current obsession is learning about the latest and greatest stuff happening in the computer security world, especially after I recently realized how much my script kiddie skills have degraded over the past year. So I present to you Richard Thieme.

I’ve found that Microsoft security essentials is ok when you have nothing superior. Fortunately for most of us you will find much better free software options which can be quicker and even more accurate in finding viruses on your desktop. Moreover, you will find much better software applications which are active and prohibit trojans before they install. Obviously MS also protects real-time, but is not nearly as powerful.

The following time I learn a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I mean, I do know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you might fix in the event you werent too busy searching for attention.
