Iran censors an act meant to highlight the struggles of Muslim women.
As my fellow blogger Maryam Namazie has reported, recently the Iranian born actress Golshifteh Farahani posed nude in a French magazine to protest the conservative policies of her homeland and highlight the plight of women across the Muslim world.
Upon seeing the blasphemous image of a beautiful nude woman, the Iranian Ministry of Culture tactfully responded by permanently exiling her from Iran. We should all appreciate the sacrifice she has made with her statement.

At least they weren’t able to throw her in jail for the rest of her life, or stone her to death… though it wouldn’t surprise me if a fatwah goes out demanding her death. Being separated from your family is an evil punishment in and of itself.

Don’t confuse political action for the views of an entire religion.

Pity the abrahamic religions make it so bloody easy for them, then, isn’t it? You might almost think they weren’t designed to recognise women’s agency as on a par with men’s (incredible I know, but they do have all those niggling little details such as – just pick your abrahamic flavour – considering a woman’s testimony as worth half that of a man … prescribing that female heirs should inherit no more than half as much as their brothers … thinking it’s perfectly fine to execute rape victims for the “crime” of having been raped … or having women sit at the back of the bus, keep silent and be subservient to husband or father as head of the household, you know, little things like that. ).

I’m having impure thoughts too. But they involve inflicting horrible physical mutilations on the theocratic bastards that run Iran. And there is something wrong with that, so I shall apply some self-discipline and think simply “imagine there’s no religion” instead.

I agree w/ Ian @#1 IMHFO, any religion that has violent punishment and/or retribution as a part of its scripture, in any form, cannot be a “religion of peace”. That sheep has already been fucked. It seems that every time this is brought up someone has to ask “What about the moderates?” Well, the moderates empower the fanatics by their tacit approval, and while I can sympathize with the fact that they suffer from a mental disorder (as most of my family does) they are not blameless in their complicity.

Oh the irony. I got my ps3 3 years ago, on my birthday. And guess what day it decided to go and die? =3=;Meanie D’:Anyway, read through the post, and the first half of comments (God there are a huge bunch of em O.o), and I tried most of the things suggested.Though my problem seems slightly different than for most others : Summary: It turns on, the green led lights up, and nothing else happens. Putting in a game lights the blue led, and the drive starts spinning, but nothing else happens.I get a single beep when I turn on, another single beep when I keep power pressed, and then after a little while a third beep signaling that the system is powering down.As for the alternate way with pressing both the power and eject buttons, all that happens is the standard 3 quick beeps telling me that the drive is empty, and nothing else.And the difference that I noticed from most of the comments I read, my controller still gets assigned to the ps3, and I can start it with the controller as well (maybe I just misread something above though).So long story short, I can’t even get the system restore menu to appear : .>And now I can’t play my beloved Agarest D:Way to spoil my birthday. (Also, yeah, I know, I can’t keep it short, I just can’t)
