Adios Kirkuk, hello redacted destination. I will be moving to my next base over the next few days and will be disconnected from the intertubes. I have no idea what internet options are available at the next stop or how long I will be there. Last time I asked my XO when I would go home, the answer was “When I tell you when you can,” so I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be around until all of the thousands of tons of army equipment are out of theater. So it might be a while. Worst case, I will be sending my updates and articles to someone who can post them here for me.
But odds are that this blog will be silent for the rest of the week. Good news is that I can get around to kicking this cold and finishing part three of Assassin Actual’s “Super Shitty Novel”.
See you all on the far side.

Might not be so long then. It’s been reported back here in the States that most of that stuff is being left for the Iraqis – it’s too costly to ship it home, apparently. Doesn’t sound reasonable to me, but I’m only a civilian.

See you on the flip side, then. And here’s hoping that you and everyone else rotates back to the States sooner rather than later.

Stay safe. I hope you’re out of there soon.
Can anyone tell me what SSSD stands for? I can figure out what it means, but not what the acronym is.

I like #4. Does the USAF have any?

@Draken – those are the ones I found as well. I’m also partial to number 4, but thought there might be a specific Army acronym he’s using.
