After reading a number of Today in Iraq posts, among other sources, I’m beginning to wonder if someone shouldn’t station heavily armed people at police officer’s residences and just wait to take out the nutters, rather than go looking for them. Sort of honeypots, as it were.

Wait. You say your router burned to the ground? Is this your average enterprise network router or something industrial-strength with ISP-scale throughput and possibly specialized and or mil-spec equipment flavorings?
Was it exciting? “Burned to the ground” elicits images of IT horror stories I’ve read elsewhere.

Honeypot would not work these days. All the stupid bad guys are already dead. They scout out weak targets, use moles to inform on movements, and pick the weak ones out of the pack.
I didn’t get a chance to see the router fire, just got a note on my door saying we are sorry for the delay in service
