TAZA – A roadside bomb wounded a member of the government-backed Sunni Sahwa militia in Taza, a town 210 km (130 miles) north of Baghdad, a local police source said.
HAMMAM AL-ALIL – A parked car bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol exploded near a police checkpoint, wounding five soldiers and one policeman in Hammam al-Alil, 329 km (200 miles) north of Baghdad, a local police source said.
MOSUL – A roadside bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol exploded, wounding six people including two soldiers in eastern Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, a local police source said.
SAADIYA – A member of the Kurdish security force Asaish shot dead a government-backed Sunni Sahwa militia member in the town of Saadiya, 100 km (70 miles) northeast of Baghdad, a local police source said. The source said security forces arrested the Asaish member after a chase.
MOSUL – A roadside bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol killed one civilian in eastern Mosul, a local police source said.
TAL AFAR – Police found the decomposed body of a man in Tal Afar, 420 km (260 miles) northwest of Baghdad, a local police source said.
HAMMAM AL-ALIL – Police found the body of a man who had been strangled in Hammam al-Alil, a local police source said.
KIRKUK – Police found the body of an unidentified man in his forties just north of Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, a source in Kirkuk police operations centre said late on Friday. The source said the man had been handcuffed and blindfolded and his body was riddled with bullets.
BAGHDAD – A sticky bomb attached to the car of a police officer killed him and wounded two passers-by when it went off on Friday in Baghdad’s central Karrada district, an Interior Ministry source said.
JBELA – Gunmen in a car shot dead a civilian late on Friday in Jbela, 65 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, a local police source said. (Compiled by Baghdad bureau)
