Glen Beck’s “Planet Course-Altering Event” Draws less than 5,000

After Glen Beck endeared himself to the Israeli public by ranting about popular social demonstrations on housing issues and then promptly lied about ranting about popular social demonstrations on housing issues, after hinting about the possible culmination of biblical prophecy, he only drew a crowd of about 4,700 (source: His spokesman)..which he promptly inflated to 10,000.

Fox news only mentioned the event only once, and that was from a pundit. Has Mr. Beck finally fallen from grace? This event was a tie in to the launch of GBTV, if this christening was any indication, his ship might have already sailed.

Has Mr. Beck finally fallen from grace? One can only wish. My seventy-something year old father used to watch him on Fox and he and I had some strong discussions over the “facts” that Mr. Beck promulgated. I have experienced no small amount of schadenfreude in watching Mr. Beck and his fear driven narrative being removed from TV. IMHO, I think the guy deserves an Oscar®. Why you ask? The crocodile tears, the impassioned laments and the dire predictions of all sorts of things. I don’t think he believes any of that stuff but I think he knows it generates him money. And really, isn’t that what actors due in movies? Take a character on paper and bring it to life on screen, a life that in no way reflects their own person, and it makes people buy tickets to see the show.

I’m not so sure Beck is acting. He may really be just that nutty. The sad thing is the large number of people (all Fox News watchers, I guess) who think the guy is some kind of deep thinker. Beck and Palin cannot disappear too quickly for me.

Just ran across your blog, and wanted to commend you for it. As former Army Officer and Desert Storm vet, I appreciate the way you’re fighting the good fight against the attempt to make the military a “Christian” organization.

Trying to fight the good fight as it were, the Chaplin was able to lure me into his office with the promise of Starbucks coffee yesterday.

If he ever gets a puppy, an unmarked van, and some candy; i’m screwed.
