Chick-fil-A pretends to be a girl for PR reasons, is caught

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.  H/t to George Takei for posting it.  Chick-fil-A has been horrific to gay people for a long time, I am glad that they’ve finally been outspoken enough about it to cause everyday people to start protesting.

The story is this: the founder’s son/COO said CFA money was going to fight gay marriage so Jim Henson announced they would not partner with Chick-fil-A in the future.  Chick-fil-A suddenly discovered that the Muppet toys they were giving out were defective and announced they would no longer be giving them out.  Obviously, many people think that they dropped the toys because Jim Henson called them on being homo-haters, but Chick-fil-A is sticking to its story… an making up fake Facebook accounts to do the dirty work for them.

“Abby Farle” is a FB account created by Chick-fil-A to promote the lie that the toys had been removed weeks ago.  I guess the logic being that if someone who isn’t the store makes a claim that is untrue, no one can be mad at the company for lying.

Except social media under the scrutiny of tens of thousands of people is not the best place to use easily found stock photos as your head shot or to start a profile only a few hours ahead of when you post to a company’s website.  Especially if that’s the only thing the fake account does.

So, not only did CFA create a profile to enable them to lie, they made her super Christian, and they didn’t make her convincingly.  CFA was caught in the act 2 hours after they began the lie.  The internet is sometimes a beautiful thing, but companies are sometimes incredibly stupid at what they think they can get away with.

Dear everyone, when you get caught doing something bad, just admit it, because then it won’t be a story.  This?  This is a story.

BUAHAHAHA

UPDATE: Here is screencap of the stockphoto for those who think it isn’t the same girl:

If you really can’t stop eating at CFA, then you need to at least develop some sort of homophobia offset program. Next time you buy a homophobia sandwich, quadruple your food bill and donate that amount to a group like Lambda Legal. It’s what I did the two times I forgot my bagged dinner and resorted to CFA from my university food court last year. This year, I’m going to keep some nonperishable snacks in my car. No more excuses. And I’m still going to donate to Lambda Legal.

The yellow-topped girl whose thumbnail picture is shown in “Robert R••••”‘s comment, and in the update, is visibly different from the “Abby Farle” model. “Robert R” deserves full kudos for tracking down this fraud so quickly; dunno how the images got mixed up.

    1. 8.1

If they bought it (which is easy enough), probably not, at least not for a copyright violation. However, the model release that the “pretty redhead teenager” signed might have sterner words on the subject. I know you’re generally not permitted to use photos of people that you buy on stock sites to misrepresent or cast a bad light on the model(s) pictured, at least not without special arrangements with the model. Perhaps this use violates Shutterstock’s TOS, too — I don’t know that to be true, but I wouldn’t be shocked to hear it.

Same question as BB. We know this is a fake FB account, but nowhere have I seen any evidence linking it back to someone at CFA. While I agree that this is a probable scenario, I can’t in good conscience endorse this meme without further evidence.

  3. 14

I admit, there is a whole lot of schadenfreude in watching them spiral into deeper and deeper into this. I really, really want to turn away, but then they do something even more stupid.

Having formerly worked for the corporate offices of a national franchise chain, my guess is that this was not done by CFA corporate, but by a local franchisee. No way to know for certain of course, but in my experience, franchisees regularly pull bad moves like this that made everyone else slap their foreheads. Just my guess.

Doesn’t change the fact the CFA is a terrible, bigoted organization, of course.

  5. 18

I’m personally amazed it’s taken until now for this to happen. I honestly thought that CFA’s bigotry was well known before now.

Personally, I’ve always hated CFA; when I was a desperate job seeker, the manager of their Tucson store asked me if I had any church/youth group volunteer experience. He didn’t react poorly when I said no, but the fact that it was directly asked informed me that CFA is not the type of establishment that anyone should support.

Still, even for a bigoted fundie company, I would have expected them to cover their tracks just a little better than this… Seriously, not even removing the watermark? At least put some effort into it, for christs sake! If you’re going to be lying for Jesus (which we all know, totally isn’t bearing false witness), at least make an afternoon of it.

Nobody’s chicken is THAT good. Except KFC. Find a KFC! Or better yet, something locally owned. Do something, but for reason’s sake, don’t go to Chick Fil A. Remember, if there was no chicken between your money and the anti-gay rights groups fighting against gay rights, you’d surely not give over your money. Right? Of course right. Now remember that you can get chicken at numerous other places. This is the responsibility of having a choice. It’s not just for your sake that you have a choice. Your selection has an impact, no matter how small it seems. Go somewhere else!

“the manager of their Tucson store asked me if I had any church/youth group volunteer experience.”

That sounds illegal. I’ve heard that in Utah, they ask you where you did your missionary work, and if you didn’t do any, you don’t get the job.

I worked at a bookstore in Denver a long time ago; there was a Rat-Fil-A in the same mall. They were always closed on Sundays. Unortunately for them, I have a policy: if a restaurant is closed, I will not eat there. So on Sundays, while on break from selling books such as Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses and Isaac Asimov’s book about the Bible, I’d have lunch somewhere else. So there!

“Abby Farle” is a FB account created by Chick-fil-A to promote the lie that the toys had been removed weeks ago.

How do you know that’s actually true? It’s clearly a fake account using a stock photo supporting Chick-fil-A, but that doesn’t mean that the company itself created and used it.

I’ve seen good evidence that it’s a fake account, but absolutely NOTHING demonstrating that Chick-fil-A was responsible for it.

  9. 27

I wish someone could find out EXACTLY when the Jim Henson Co. actually notified Chick-fil-A-holes so we could know for certain if their claimed “toy recall” is an out-and-out lie.

Jim Henson Co. didn’t ANNOUNCE it until the 20th but their announcement said that they had already notified the Chick-fil-A company which I suspect happened on the 19th or before.

I hope that the Jim Henson Co. is able to sue them over this.

The facebook nonsense is peanuts compared to that question.

Shockna, that might have been an awkward way of asking if you were used to hordes of children. People with camp counsellor experience are generally resourceful and unflappable.

It could have been, I hadn’t thought of that. What I don’t get is why they’d go directly to the church example, instead of asking more directly. May have been a failure of imagination on the managers part, but that seems against my better judgment.

That sounds illegal. I’ve heard that in Utah, they ask you where you did your missionary work, and if you didn’t do any, you don’t get the job.

I believe that the Arizona law is that if you ask that as an employment qualifier, it is illegal, but I didn’t bother pursuing anything because I couldn’t prove it.

I was a desperate 18 year old with no employment history to speak of; they could easily have claimed the person they took was better qualified, and probably been right, to boot.

Just wondering… would you rather have businessmen who stand by the values they claim to live by or just more who cater to political correctness like most businesses which are trying to be everything to everyone for the sake of the buck?

Never mind the Cathy’s believe gay marriage is wrong and marriage should be held up as one man and one woman. Ignore that as the issue for the moment.

Do you want someone who stands strong in their beliefs or goes with the wind? Who would you really respect more as long as they treat each individual with respect regardless of their differences?

    1. 31.1

      >>> would you rather have businessmen who stand by the values they claim to live by

This issue has NOTHING to do with values and suggesting that it does seems disingenuous at best.

It has to do with millions of dollars being given to hate groups who think gay people should be arrested.

The Family Research Council has lobbied against House Res.1064 “Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the `Anti-Homosexuality Bill, 2009′ under consideration by the Parliament of Uganda, that would impose long-term imprisonment and the death penalty for certain acts, threatens the protection of fundamental human rights, and for other purposes.”

      On Hardball:
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Do you think we should outlaw gay behavior?
PETER SPRIGG: Well, I think certainly-
MATTHEWS: I’m just asking you, should we outlaw gay behavior?
SPRIGG: I think that the Supreme Court decision in Lawrence v. Texas, which overturned the sodomy laws in this country, was wrongly decided. I think there would be a place for criminal sanctions against homosexual behavior.
MATTHEWS: So we should outlaw gay behavior.
      SPRIGG: Yes.

      >>> Do you want someone who stands strong in their beliefs or goes with the wind?

This is a false dichotomy — I don’t want either one.

I certainly DO NOT want someone who cannot change their mind on the evidence.

I certainly DO NOT want someone who will spend millions of dollars to work to DENY fundamental *RIGHTS* (You know, those unalienable things) to our fellow human beings.

      >>> Who would you really respect more as long as they treat each individual with respect regardless of their differences?

This question is irrelevant because that isn’t anything in the remote vicinity of the issue at hand.

I certainly would not respect someone who cannot present a sound argument for their position and yet insists on persisting in it on the basis of an ancient tale of patriarchal misogyny, absurd factual errors, genocide, infanticide, and scapegoating human sacrifices.

      1. My statement was not disingenuous at all. We’re merely talking about the values of individuals based on their religious beliefs. That has nothing to do with scientific evidence (which has not been confirmed any more than global warming, contrary to popular opinion)nor what anyone else believes. It’s about the right of one person to believe as they do while another is free to believe as that person chooses.

For you to deny Mr. Cathy his right to believe and choose to operate his company within his set of values is saying you should also be forced to operate your own business that caters to others, including Christians. The fact is, you’re free to operate your business no matter how you choose as long as it does not violate the law and basic civil rights.

And, there is no protected status based on sexual orientation. It’s not there. It does exist in a state or two but I guarantee you that was based more in the act to buy votes as opposed to acting in the interests of civil rights.

You talk about how they spend their money. It’s their business and it’s their money. Who are you to say how they should spend it? Should one come into your home or business and say, You WILL or you MUST spend money on only things that benefit me and conform to my value system and beliefs? I doubt it.

As for the Spriggs comment, that’s one individual speaking for their organization. Again, that’s the stand for that organization no differently than Dan Cathy spoke for his family and his company. Would you like for one to show up at a GLAAD-associated event and force you to make statements that are acceptable to Christians? I’d hope not but I’d also hope you recognize the “inalienable rights” to believe and choose as we wish. I’d hope you recognize the First Amendment, primarily the freedom of speech and the free exercise of religious practices.

In fact, let’s look at the entire amendment with regard to the fifth clause on the right to peaceful assembly. Folks chose to speak in favor of Chik-fil-a on Wednesday in support of the company. They did so because they felt the company and its founder were being stomped on for their values and their words spoken… protected by this very same amendment. Whether one agrees with Mr. Cathy or not, if you do not support his right to believe and practice as he wishes, you’ll only hurt yourself in the end.

One who approaches this entire scenario with common sense will protect the right of every person to speak freely regardless of how much or how little they agree with any given individual. I don’t know Mr. Cathy personally but I have had dealings with him by letter and I’ve done work for their corporate offices on a beautiful campus set in the woods. I guarantee he would stand up for your right to believe as you wish and speak your mind.

Trust me, it’s in your best interest to support anyone’s freedom. I wonder how some felt at the beginning of WWII when they knew they did not speak up for others; particularly when they were taken away.

First they came for the communists,
        and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
        and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
        and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

        Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

If you do not support the right of free speech for everyone, in time no one will have it. If you believe there are those who are not seeking that level of control, you’re hiding in the dark.

        Regards,

        Ken

        1. You’re an idiot. No one’s saying Chick-fil-A can’t legally be shitbags, we’re just not going to personally give them our money. I have no moral obligation to financially support businesses I think are lame and who give my money to evil causes.

And if we’re gonna go with first they came for, can we talk about the *killing* of homosexuals that the money you spend at Chick-fil-A goes to? Let’s hope they don’t start killing every non-christian, non-virgin, and disobedient child as their book suggests.

So, yeah, CFA has a first amendment right to spend their money legally on supporting whatever opinion they want – if they wanted to spend it on campaigning to legalize baby rape, there’s no legal reason they couldn’t. But I have the first amendment right to be really pissed off when people do shit I think is wrong. And I have the right not to give my money to people who are going to use it to legalize the murder of gays. I can give my money to people who are slightly less evil.

In summary, go be stupid somewhere where people don’t mind you masturbating about your freedom without knowing a thing about what you’re talking about.

        2. How silly of me not to see this, but you’re absolutely right. The First Amendment obligates me to eat at Chick-fil-a because refusing to spend my money there clearly interferes with Dan Cathy’s right to spend his money telling people that I’m a pedophile! How foolish of me not to understand this sound logic!

Ok, now that we’ve made fun of your idiotic base assertion, can we get on to discussing how you shouldn’t talk about the science of human behavior or climate change when you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about and, I can tell from your moronic statements and obsession with stance over substance, subscribe to a faith system who’s approach to science is, “I guess it could be right so long as it doesn’t conflict with this book I have created by illiterate desert nomads”?

I guarantee he would stand up for your right to believe as you wish and speak your mind.

Maybe he would, so long as I don’t talk about my boyfriend, at which point he would have me arrested.

          Fuck off,

          Kaoru

  12. 32

Apparently, you’re not familiar with the parts of the world where one is indeed murdered for being homosexual.

Or perhaps where a daughter is killed by even her own father or brothers to protect family honor because she’s no longer a virgin or simply perceived to have violated that honor. Or it could be only as mild as having your nose and ears cut off before you manage to escape.

You’re also so ignorant of the Bible that there are differences between the Old Testament actions which you attempt to lean toward and the New Testament which Dan Cathy follow which essentially says it’s God’s choice to judge and act upon, not his nor his duty. His duty is to himself and his family.

You really have no clue what kind of freedoms afforded you, do you? You’re so stupid you can only think of yourself and your self-proclaimed right to screw whomever you like.

If you look carefully at videos, not once did Cathy ever state he wants to rule anyone’s actions with an iron fist nor did he state he wanted government to force changes. He stated an opinion of how he feels his God will judge this nation and others based on their actions.

There are kids under ten years old dying of cancer and you people are so short-sighted all you think about is yourselves and the stated opinion of one man and how he leads his company.

If you don’t like it, never go there again. Eat elsewhere.

Or go to most any country in the middle east and speak openly about how much you hate such values and want to have your rights as a homosexual. See how far that gets you?

Take this however you wish… you’re being as much of a moron as the blind idiot I met years ago who thought airplanes should be designed such that a blind person can be a pilot. They were so militant in their thoughts, that was their right and systems should be built to support that ability. Oddly, there are systems built such that a plane can fly better on its own than what the pilot can do. But put a human in there and it’s history because the human will muck it up when they violate the most basic principles of flight. Air France 447 was the ideal example.

In stead of speaking in support of one’s right to believe and state as they wish, you want to muck it up for others with your own militant ideas because you think you’re right and everyone else is wrong. And what happens as a result? People come out in droves in support of Chik-fil-a.

It would be amazing how much difference it would make if the idiots on the left simply stated, “We recognize their right to believe and state their opinion. However, this is how we feel and we will continue to work toward a difference for our benefit.” In stead, you created a media storm that turned others against you. You will have become the masters of your own defeat simply because you hate others who disagree with you; the very thing you accuse Dan Cathy of.

    Sad.

          1. You’ll have to forgive the RWNJ-Rethugulican – he obviously has no reading comprehension skill, nor any skill to research on his own (and by research I mean it takes 35 seconds to google and find), nor does he evidence having absorbed any meaningful education.

We TOLD HIM that it had nothing to do with values and what does he say? “We’re merely talking about the values of individuals based on their religious beliefs.”. NO WE ARE NOT. Do not tell US what WE are talking about. When I say specifically “It’s about the MONEY THEY FUND TO HATE GROUPS” I mean it, you ignorant LIAR 4 JESUS.

He doesn’t even know his own Bible. Jesus’ Family Values:

            * Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household. Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

How a Real Man(tm) talks to his mother:

            * On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

            Christianity is anti-marriage:

            * I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.

And even those who DO get married should know it won’t last:

            * For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

            * And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

But they ignore all these things in that disgusting morass of contradictions.

    1. 32.2

It would be amazing how much difference it would make if the idiots on the left simply stated, “We recognize their right to believe and state their opinion. However, this is how we feel and we will continue to work toward a difference for our benefit.”

Funny, that’s exactly what we did say. In fact, we said it right here, in this comment thread, to you, and you seem to have ignored it completely and continue to insist that no, we’re really just upset because Dan Cathy is a bigot, not because he pays people to support murdering LGBT people in those countries you named above and who encourage the murder of LGBT people in this country.

But let’s test your reading comprehension skills, shall we? Did anyone say that Dan Cathy can’t feel the way he does?

Well, darkstar said, “This issue has NOTHING to do with values and suggesting that it does seems disingenuous at best.

It has to do with millions of dollars being given to hate groups who think gay people should be arrested.”

That seems to be about the actions of CFA, not their stances.

Well, maybe it was when Ashley said, “No one’s saying Chick-fil-A can’t legally be shitbags, we’re just not going to personally give them our money. I have no moral obligation to financially support businesses I think are lame and who give my money to evil causes.”

No…that’s not it either. In fact, I can’t find anyplace where anybody has said that Dan Cathy can’t be a bigot. Not a single place. I see where you say that we are obligated to support his bigotry because FREE SPEECH, but I don’t see where anyone said that because he believes stupid things that we need to crush him and his company.

Nope, it’s all about how he pays people to tell morons like you that gays are pedophiles and terrorists out to get your kids and destroy your churches. And you’re so gullible you buy into it hook, line, and sinker, including the part where the very legitimate concerns of the LGBT community are ignored and it’s made into an argument over beliefs, not actions.

But as I alluded to above, fundies believe we’re saved by faith, and most especially not works, so it’s very difficult for them to understand that somebody could be upset at the actual actions of a person and not their stance on an issue. We don’t care what Dan Cathy believes, we care that he paid somebody to tell others that LGBT people are bad parents, necrophilics, Nazis, terrorists, and pedophiles, when all of that is a lie. We care that he paid people to help write the Uganda bill designed to legally murder gay people and then paid to lobby Congress to not condemn that. We care that he pays people to trick credulous people like yourself into believing that the science is still out on things like climate change and the inborn nature of homosexuality and, when that is demonstrated to be false, to muddy the meaning of “science” so that it becomes no more authoritative than the ability to blindly believe something you read in a book and potentially the voice in your head.

      1. Where do you get this nonsense?

And for the other remarks that he “paid” others to say these things, try comparing it to Komen Foundation providing funds to Planned Parenthood promote breast health and help check women for potential issues. It’s not their desire to see those funds used for abortion.

So, isn’t it possible the Cathy’s support an organization that promotes family values for that very purpose? Spriggs wants to rule what can happen in privacy. I don’t want that and I’m sure Cathy does not want that as he would not want his choice to pray in private to be affected. There are countries where one is killed for prayer or prayer to the “wrong god”. It does not happen here.

You’re so misguided, it’s really very sad. Your militant actions will only hurt yourself… and others.

I have a business to run. This is it for me.

        1. How is it militant to not spend your money somewhere? Your logic is not.

Until Cathy comes out and says he’s not OK with the “kill the gays” bill he’s used CFA money to support, I’m afraid I have to interpret it as something he supports. Komen was always very clear, to the point of removing funding, that they supported breast cancer screenings only. Cathy universally doesn’t approve of homosexuality, where he draws the line in what is OK to do to homosexuals in terms of taking away rights is unclear.

        2. So, isn’t it possible the Cathy’s support an organization that promotes family values for that very purpose? Spriggs wants to rule what can happen in privacy. I don’t want that and I’m sure Cathy does not want that as he would not want his choice to pray in private to be affected.

You really don’t get it, do you?

I don’t give a shit what he, or you for that matter, personally believe. If you support groups like FRC, you are supporting the imprisonment and murder of LGBT people. You don’t get to say, “well, *my* money didn’t go toward writing that bill to kill people or to lobby the Congress to not oppose it.” It all gets mixed together. Your personal beliefs matter exactly not at all when you support that stuff, so stop bringing it back to what you or Dan Cathy believe or not believe.

Your beliefs are meaningless. Only actions matter. How many times will I have to repeat this before you understand? Your beliefs mean nothing, not a thing, not even a tiny amount. Your support of the murder of LGBT people with your money, however, does matter. You support murder of LGBT people by eating at CFA. There is no getting around that. No way for that not to be true, no matter what you believe because (say it with me, now) your beliefs don’t matter. If you don’t believe in murdering LGBT people, but do believe in “family values,” there are other groups that support all that stuff but not the murder part.

Is that clear now? About how what you personally believe means absolutely nothing compared to your actions? Have I made that entirely transparent? Do you need me to repeat it a few more times?

  13. 33

I’ll leave this link with you…

    http://www.boortz.com/weblogs/nealz-nuze/2012/aug/02/diversity/

Pay particular attention to the concept of diversity and one’s attempt to limit it in spite of what they claim.

Boortz had an interesting observation yesterday I’ve alluded to:
“As for the gay aaaaaaaacitivists who are making a bid deal about Dan Cathy’s defense of traditional marriage … you’re needlessly squandering a good bit of the good will you’ve built up over the years. Soon you’re gonna have to ask yourself if it was worth it.”

I’m thinking not. As I said, your own actions will turn others against you.

    1. 33.1

First of all, Neil Boortz is, like you, also a moron.

What good will is he talking about? How much worse can it get on your side of things than calling for the state to murder us? What’s next, vigilante justice? Are we one wrong move from lynch mobs? Precisely what can we possibly lose at this point by standing up against people who want to kill us?

    2. 33.2

Diversity can only exist and flourish when one group of people do not try to violate the Rights of another group (or individual).

It is the hate-mongering anti-gay brigands who are initiating force against others in order to deny them their Rights and they have therefore broken the peace and tolerance that would otherwise exist.

And you have NO RIGHT AT ALL to tell other people who they can love.

The RIGHT to Marry is an INDIVIDUAL RIGHT granted to mentally competent adult human beings to marry other INDIVIDUAL mentally competent adult human beings (a contractual agreement that imposes on both parties various responsibilities in exchange for social considerations). You cannot constrain WHO they can marry because then you violate the EQUAL protection clause.

The state CANNOT tell them they cannot marry because the other person is Black.

The state CANNOT tell them they cannot marry because the other person is the ‘wrong’ religion.

The state CANNOT tell them they cannot marry because the other person is of a specific sex.

If you do any of these things then you are denying someone EQUAL RIGHTS and Shame On You.

Here… allow a Republican Conservative to explain it to you:

    It’s “Neal”, not Neil.

And, what is this “murder” bullshit you keep spouting?

I don’t want to see anyone murdered but I’d sure as hell like to see you shut the fuck up.

    Future notices will go elsewhere.

Get a life, folks. As I said, I have a business to run.

I love when assholes like you troll other people’s blogs and then act like we’re forcing you to waste your time getting your ass kicked in the comments section.

Why don’t you stop going into other people’s spaces and telling them to shut the fuck up? Certainly that is worth than just not giving your money to support other people’s speech, trying to shut someone up completely.

      It’s “Neal”, not Neil.

      Oh, well that changes everything.

And, what is this “murder” bullshit you keep spouting?

Ok, I’m going to repeat this. And I’ll use small words so you might understand. Exodus International, a group that Dan Cathy supports, sent people to Uganda. Those people said that gay people were trying to “recruit” Ugandan children. They helped write a bill that would punish homosexuality with death. We call that “murder.” With me so far?

When Congress wanted to pass a resolution saying that killing gay people because they’re gay is bad, the Family Research Council, another organization Chick-fil-a supports, used some of that money to tell Congress they shouldn’t say it’s wrong to kill gay people because they’re gay.

Is that understandable? Chick-fil-a paid to have people go to another country, help them write a bill to kill gay people, and then paid somebody else to tell Congress that killing gay people should be hunky-dory. It’s not rocket surgery.

I don’t want to see anyone murdered but I’d sure as hell like to see you shut the fuck up.

If you don’t want to see anyone murdered, stop paying people to advocate for the murder of others. It’s that simple. And, again (since you don’t seem to get this), if you are paying for people to support murder, I don’t give a shit what you personally believe. It’s worthless posturing that may make you sleep better at night, but in no way changes the incredible harm you do to LGBT people.

I don’t mind opposition, I just delight in the irony of someone coming to someone’s blog to defend someone’s right to say something and then telling other people to shut the fuck up. I also enjoy the irony of someone coming to someone’s blog to waste their time in internet arguments and then saying they’ve got more important things to do than get into internet arguments.
