Thug In Velvet – Revisited

Around a decade ago there was a watershed in Indian culture.

We saw a concept come about in India and abroad.

It was called the New Indian Male. The very idea of the New Indian Male was a gentleman. He wore clothes that fit and wasn’t picked out by his mother. He understood fashion. He was gentler, kinder and indeed “more in touch with his feminine side”. His image on the big screen and in populist media was not one of the country boy or poor, but a middle class hero and his actions resonated the most with that demographic. In the minority of India that is Upper Middle Class this may hold true. More men broke gender roles and cooked, cleaned and raised children and this allowed more women to break out of those traditional roles and do non-traditional roles such as working. More men cleaned up themselves and after themselves. But what happened? Why have we shifted out of that? [Read more...]

Atheism’s MRA Problem

There was a piece of research done on the MRA of r/mensrights on Reddit which showed that they are mainly White, Young and Atheist. Now I know there was a bot entering values so it should be discounted but I do think there are is a fairly large representation of MRA or their ideas that are vocal among atheists.

This one’s by Grimachu and there are problems with this. And the major one is the request for dialogue while simultaneously excusing bad behaviour. This has always been a problem.

See the notion is that we are at fault. That FTB is a monolith. Never mind the fact that I noticed the slymepit coo gleefully over my stance against certain A+ members and indeed feminists over FGM without realising that feminism is itself not a monolith.

And while MRA may have become a slur, it is a slur brought on by the actions of MRA. The MRA have not worked to help men but to fuck over women. While Grimachu starts off here we will see what this entails later in the dialogue. [Read more...]

What About The Men?

Today is International Men’s Day and despite the self appointed guardians of Masculinity (AKA the MRA) having declared me as a Beta/Mangina/Whipped shadow of a man under the thrall of the femiwitches that control Freethought Blogs, I have decided to actually post something for it.

While men do have a big advantage over women in nearly all walks of life particularly in India where being male is like typing IDDQD in Doom. [Read more...]

Age of Kali – Thunderfoot – All India Backchod, Rape and Asking For It

Some people really don’t get why something is bad or harmful or not helpful to everyone involved.

Thunderfoot… for those who are unaware was and indeed still is a big deal among the atheist community. Back in the great creationist wars, he was in effect the biggest anti-creationist on the Youtubes.

A big deal all in all.

But then came his sudden and (IMHO) inexplicable assault on feminism and women in general. From his brief stint at FTB before I joined up resulting in one weird interview and the beginning of the Anti-FTB malarky to his frankly one sided take on Anita Sarkeesian.

But this?

There are many things wrong here. [Read more...]

A Voice for Me – Pet Rock

[warning]TW – Rape, Violence, Acid Throwing – This is a labour of hate. This is a gigantic rant over 8 hours in the making. This charts the absolute depths A Voice for men has plummeted in a recent article. It is long. It is not fun. It is terrible. I joke about it but I have to otherwise we will spend 18,600 words weeping at the heartlessness of the author.[/warning]

A Voice for Me: Not You Too India!

In the light of the Delhi rapes you may have noticed a couple of the MRA websites have rushed to defend the “so called Rights” of men in India.

I does need to be repeated. Anyone who has read my blog is aware of the various “major” rapes that grip the news headlines out here. Rape is common place enough and India still doesn’t consider marital rape as rape.

But various websites and indeed the commentariat from such stellar places such as the Slymepit and a Voice for Men have shown up to defend the laws based on a variety of points ranging from “not reading the News Article” to “But I have to pay more for Nightclub Entry”.

Today’s “Won’t Someone Think Of the Menz” candidate is A Voice for Men and it’s David Cuspis. [Read more...]
