Vulture Brigade

There is a tendency among a lot of people who cannot understand a tragedy to utilise it to strengthen their delusional world view.

The Boston Marathon Attack has had these “fine” outstanding individuals come boiling out of the woodwork. They cannot accept any such attack without a nefarious plot (well more nefarious than kill random people) by government officials to benefit from this.

[warning]The following contains debunking and gory and traumatic pictures. Read it if you wish to see the true depths to which idiots will sink.[/warning]

Let’s start with two visual examples before we dive into real wankery that is Mike Adams.

Yeah… You are all terrible people!

These are “Anti-Vax” who believe this is some new and strange plan to take over their rights.

The actual discussion between them is a ghoulish argument about whether the incident was “faked” by actors or was planted by the US government.

I don’t suggest checking JoAnne’s page on Facebook. There are worse things out there than this one.

Oh Fuck It. Want to see what’s worse?

Oh look… there’s the guy who lost both legs who could hold them up without pain in his face while being rushed in a wheelchair with no blood trail. Notice he’s not screaming there either. I HAVE DONE TRAUMA EVENT DRILLS LIKE THIS while in the military. These are STAGED PHOTO OPS. Total fake. – J

No. Just No.

If you knew “Trauma Event Drills” then you would know the golden fucking rule of triage.

If you were in the “Army” you would fucking KNOW this because this is stuff that’s life and fucking death. As an army medic this is your bread and butter.

And when you lose your limbs your body undergoes a physiological change that causes muscle contraction that stops blood loss.

You got to be a special kind of terrible to say the above quote.

Clearly everything is related!

Another conspiracy nutter. Rather than be a genuine attack it has to be some shady Obama Plan to kill 3 people, wound a lot more for nebulous gains.

It can’t just be some arsehole doing arsehole things. It has to be that Obama and the government are the goddamn Empire.

And last but not least, let’s go to Mike Adams.

Mike Adams has one of the largest websites online. His reader base is allegedly bigger than the ENTIRE FTB site’s combined. He is a heavy hitter in the realm of “bullshit medicine” but also weighs in on topics like this. And “today’s” bullshit is Spectacular.

It’s now becoming clear that members of the Boston bomb squad had advanced notice of the horrific bombing that took place at the marathon today. As an eyewitness reports, once the bombs went off, officials began announcing, “this is just a drill!” This logically means they were all informed of the “bomb drill” beforehand. Otherwise, why would they respond with, “this is just a drill”?

Because shouting “THERE IS A BOMB” only occurs on TV. In the real world, bomb disposal squads are a lot more evidence based and would prefer to have a bomb in hand and then declare it as real rather than giving rise to mass panic.

What’s not yet being reported by the mainstream media is that a “controlled explosion” was under way on the same day as the marathon explosion.

It is however being reported by media such as Natural News which gets it’s information from hearsay, gossip, rumour and wishful thinking.

The official story of the bombing is that terrorists detonated two bombs at the marathon finish line and that the Boston bomb squad magically located a third bomb one mile away, identified the bomb, rigged it with explosives and initiated a “controlled explosion” all in less than an hour!

You mean a bomb failed to detonate properly? Just like the London Car Bombs? Or the Glasgow Airport Attack?

Industrial Professional Munitions REGULARLY fail to detonate. A bomb made out of home made stuff is just as likely if not more so.

Given these facts, ask yourself: Who is the most likely culprit in the bombing?

Absolute Motherfuckers. What? You want specifics? The fact remains that we don’t know who was responsible for these attacks and postulating grandiose situations is just plain moronic.

The Boston bomb squad clearly had advanced notice of the presence of the bombs at the marathon, and they also had advanced notice of the location of the bomb at the Kennedy Presidential Library.

There are two reasonable explanations for this:

1) Someone called in a warning and threatened to bomb the event, which is why the bomb squad was on scene.

2) The bomb squad carried out the bombing as a false flag operation to achieve a political goal (unleashing TSA on the streets, blaming right wingers, increasing the bomb squad budget, etc.).

  1. Or they knew of a potential threat and were attempting to find it without scaring the fuck out of people
  2. The Bomb Squad Blew Up 3 people to get more funding… Do you listen to the crazy that comes out of your mouth? I had to drink a quart of iodine to understand the logic behind that argument.

These are all fantasies. It’s like the conspiracy theorist lives in secret glee that the world is falling apart.

Although it’s still a bit early to know for certain, this looks more and more like a planned event that was deployed by the Boston bomb squad, called a “drill,” then used as a pretext for the President to call for TSA agents to be on the streets at all future sporting events.

And that, in turn, is the run-up to the TSA occupation of America, which has always been the goal of Obama. Remember that back on the campaign trail, he announced he wanted to build a “civilian national security force.”

You mean like the CIA, ATF, NSA, FBI, State Police, Local Police…

And first the Marathons, then the Fun Runs…

Remember, too, that DHS has now purchased over 2 billion rounds of ammunition to be used domestically, against the American people. (The number was 1.6 but has now been upgraded to over 2 billion.)

See? You can practically imagine him screaming “I TOLD YOU SO SHEEPLE” (No one who uses the word sheeple has anything sane to say) at us as he capers off to tape more feathers and spikes to american football armour.

If the bombing is used to frame and blame veterans, patriots or “right-wing extremists,” then it’s clearly a false flag, too. Veterans and patriots have been severely demonized by the Obama administration as well as the leftist media.

So… if it turns out that this was the action of someone like Timothy McVeigh rather than Islamic Fundies (Let’s face it… that’s what everyone is waiting to hear) then it’s a leftist media plot rather than say, some local fundie buying into the kind of fantasy that Mike Adams flogs and acting on it?

If the administration avoids using the bombings to roll out its political agenda, then it might have legitimately been a random terrorist attack by a deranged individual. We’ll have to wait and see what Obama calls for in reaction to the attacks in order to know their true political purpose.

So if the Admin does nothing then it is “NOT RESPONDING TO THREATS” and if the admin does something it is “USING THE ATTACKS FOR POLITICAL GAIN”.

The only thing that’s clear is that these attacks have fuelled the Vulture Brigade and rather than wait and see and try and do something positive for those who were injured, these idiots would rather profit from it.

If these idiots have made you mad then good. Be Angry. I am not Obi-Wan Kenobi. Anger is a valid expression of feeling. But how you use your rage is important. Do not direct it at these idiots. Instead? Show your solidarity with those who need it the most.

These conspiracy theorists would rather live in a world of mistrust rather than one powered by human kindness. As do the people who harmed the people of Boston. Fight back with humanity. Use your anger constructively and give what you wish to them. Be it blood or time or money.

And remember this rather than revenge. Spend your anger and your hate in helping those who need it rather than blaming people. Dana’s list of Charities and people working out there is excellent if you wish to help out.

Deranged thinking at its finest. Of course, the internet is a great tool for disseminating this stuff.

Used to be that someone making these kinds of pronouncements would be ignored. Now, anyone can post anything about any incident and it’s instantly carried around the world.

Sad to say, it’s unveiled just how completely unhinged a large percentage of our populous is.

Hi there, any chance of an advance notice re: graphic photos of blown up people? I was not expecting images from the text and title.

I get that sort of thing all the time, working with cancer as I do. “You guys already found a cure; you’re just suppressing it so you can keep your jobs.”

Since humouring morons during my off-hours is not part of my job description, I just run with it. “That’s right; see that shitty, ten-year-old Camry without a radio over there? That’s my car. Big Pharma bought it for me after I watched my third relative die from a disease the cure to which I’m sitting on so I can keep my job.” Or, if I happened to be smoking at the time, “It’s absolutely true. Know why I’m not worried about smoking this cigarette? I’ve already had the anti-cancer vaccine.”

Because fuck those kinds of assholes.

I’m sorry, I am so fed up with these delusional assholes, I could scream! I am sick and tired of them parading their illnesses onto any website they can and dishonouring those who were maimed or killed.

They are the boys who cried wolf! Every single thing, no matter how large or how small, is a conspiracy. I am tired of them wasting everyone’s time.

working overtime to make somebody else’s tragedy All About Them. It’s not about people getting hurt. It’s What About My Guns, or They’re After Me, or Only I Can See The Truth.

I think you both have it. Everyone else is just a bit part in these wild stories that play in their minds.

I’ve worked auto wrecks as a first responder (that being the one who decides to stop), and in ERs after industrial explosions and Avicenna is right. People with hideously traumatic wounds can be calm and talking to you, in no apparent pain at all.

Also, If you apply tourniquets quickly enough there isn’t much blood.

  8. VeganAtheistWeirdo says

Yes, this is just another way that people pretend to superiority. The really wacked conspiracy theorists pat themselves on the back that they’re clever enough to see through the lies and know just how rotten the world really is. Meanwhile reality is bad enough for most of us. What’s the tinfoil hat brigade offering to do about these nefarious machinations?

  9. NotReallyMyNick says

Haha, great pick Avi. I happen to know this SoulSista personally in a friend of an acquaintance way and she’s really this bad. (Gives me regular *facepalm*s in my FB feed too.) Actually the whole segment of the yoga/tantra/”healing”/”spirituality” scene that she and said acquaintance are in are very much into this kind of conspiracy and bullshit, and in their quest for bliss, enlightenment and special-snowflakeness completely oblivious to their ignorance and callousness.

  10. Rich Woods says

I’m no expert, but in that very first photo (where the poster suggests it’s a fake because there’s no blood trail) I can see what looks like an emergency tourniquet on the injured man’s thigh (you can just make out the windlass/locking-rod arrangement).

What that photo says to me is that a first responder has acted correctly and almost certainly saved the man’s life. What the post says to me is that ‘JoAnne Enlightened Consciousness’ is an ignorant fuckwit with little regard for humanity beyond the reinforcement of her own paranoid delusions.

Deep breath. Have to go lie down now.

  11. garnetstar says

OK, I’m naive, but, if these are actors, what happened to the victim’s legs? He was standing in a crowd of thousands of people and suddenly applied enough makeup or prosthetics to appear so horribly injured? Somehow fake blood was scattered all around him, in an instant?

Some people were injured, but not all? If some, why not all? Why not this particular man? And of course, every doctor and nurse and EMS and all the police and on-scene reporters were part of the conspiracy, and all reported fake injuries?

I once posted a reply to the theory that no shootings occurred at Newtown, asking if not, where were all the victims–they’d just been disappeared somehow? And got a lot of thumbs down.

I suppose that anti-vaxxers are experts at denying reality, but still, naively, suppose that people have common sense. Not so.

  12. says

The witnesses who were close enough to see are unanimous that there was carnage. Person one has a tourniquet on so tightly that his skin is grey and bloodless. The man who was pushing the wheelchair, Carlos Arredondo, was still shaking when he was interviewed later.

I think pre-emptively declaring that the bombings were either faked or done by the government is a way for people to insulate themselves from any blame when it turns out that this was an American Patriot with a message of “Wake up Sheeple! International goodwill is bad! Guns are good! See what happens when you don’t want them? People bomb the hell out of you! Besides, paying taxes is theft! Take that, Newtown memorial!”

The victims were very lucky that they were so close to the finish line and the medical tents, doctors, nurses, paramedics, first aid volunteers, supplies, and ambulances. One of the doctors said that most of the amputees were feeling grateful because they had thought their lives were about to end. At least for the moment, they were relieved to be alive.

  13. lorn says

The bad news is that a lot of people are exposed to so many movie and TV depictions of traumatic injuries without any real-world examples to rely upon that it is common for the first reaction to be that real life doesn’t appear to be quite right enough to be real.

The first time I saw someone shot I really doubted what happened. There was no spray of special effects blood. They didn’t get thrown back or act like they were in pain. The guy just turned around with a small hole in his leg. No reaction. It looked so small, like a band-aide would cover it. Then the blood started to flow. Bright arterial blood that looked entirely too bright red to be real. What snapped me out of it was the sweet coppery smell of blood, the texture of it, how it is both sticky and slippery. That never makes it into the movie experience.

The good news is that emergency medicine, informed by the lessons learned in recent wars, has advanced to the point that if they make it to the hospital in good time almost all of them will live. Our knowledge of how to handle blast damage is well beyond what we knew before we went into Iraq and Afghanistan. Treatment is better, therapy is more effective, prosthetics are more functional. This is one of the few bright spots about war.

Of course the idea that some of the people prefer a false-flag explanation is to be expected. If it is just actors and fake blood there are no innocent victims to worry about. There is no troubling understanding that those people were minding their own business, watching a race, when their lives were snuffed out or traumatized. There is no need to empathize and realize that it could happen to any of us.

Even claiming the government did it is somewhat comforting. If it part of a larger plot it isn’t random. There are reasons why it happened there and why it happened then. If you know that you can plan ahead and hope to avoid being near the next one. And knowing who to blame eliminates any fear that the perpetrator won’t be found. Randomness scares a lot of people.
