Political commentator Charles Krauthammer warns that the gay marriage case before the U.S. Supreme Court has the potential to expand into a nationwide “assault on religion.”
So the biggest complaint that legitimising and recognising gay marriage (Remember, no one was stopping a gay marriage ceremony, it is that the ceremony means nothing) will lead to issues in married student accomodations and force religious educational institutions to accept any GLBT couples who wish to live there and this is somehow a bad thing.
On deeper analysis.
The religious mandate against homosexuality and anything else they consider “icky” is apparently NOT homophobia. Just like the old Mormon stance against non-whites was not racism. No no no! The KKK are racists! Can’t you see they use the word Nigger in casual conversation? We however don’t believe white people and black people should mix.
Religious mandates against homosexuality are bigotry and homophobia. Your viewpoint despite being a couple of thousand years old is not more valid than some guy screaming at “the fags”, both of you are bigots. You don’t somehow get a free ride for holding a sincere belief that is incredibly wrong and harmful to others.
