Reap Paden has left a comment on yesterday’s post about his public temper tantrum. Since I don’t have much time or attention for writing today, I thought I’d respond in detail.
Effective = Bringing an issue to such a childish level that it causes others to make mature choices.
I suggest you consult with an expert in human development. Petitions that provide detailed and reasoned lists of grievances are generally not considered within the capabilities of anyone we reasonably call “children”.
I do appreciate Vacula’s decision to step down, though. It was very much the right thing for the SCA.
You already lost Stephanie. You are just too damn dumb to figure it out.
Well, if I’m that dumb, you’re going to have to spell it out for me. What have I lost? Be precise.
Listen to this well-
I don’t give a fuck what you say I don’t give a fuck what you do.
I didn’t keep track, but I’m pretty sure someone can come up with a count of exactly how many “fuck”s you gave in that podcast. Pro tip: It looks a little silly to swear about someone profusely in public, then pretend to be indifferent.
There is nothing you can do to stop me from doing/saying what I feel needs to be said. I’m one of those people you won’t make quiet.
Oh, trust me. You being exactly as loud and as open about your feelings as you are suits my purposes just fine right now. You see, one of the problems we’ve had in dealing with the issues in our communities is that no one was willing to talk about them. Having the arguments out in the open is perfect.
You can’t win
I strongly suspect you couldn’t articulate my goals honestly and correctly if you tried. Wanna try? Then we can talk about whether they’re within reach.
It doesn’t matter what simpletons like you say about me.
As much as I laugh when someone tries to use “Ur dum” as an insult directed at me, you are right about one thing here. You speak for your behavior far more eloquently than I ever could. Really, I should just stick to quoting you.
Intelligent people will figure it out while you spin your wheels trying to make yourself look good.
Spinning my wheels would mean I was staying in one place. If I weren’t accomplishing anything, you’d have no reason to be upset. Therefore…feel free to get help with the conclusion.
Also, as for looking good, I’m not the one trying to tell the world that I am the person to be angry at, the person who has managed all this stuff that you’re upset about. One doen’t get 900 assenting signatures on a petition by standing up and going it alone. This is a lot of people doing the work.
Anytime you open that hole under your nose about me and I hear about it, I will have a reply to it.
Promise? Pretty please? Will it be as good as this?
In the future if you don’t want to be called a bitch I would suggest you refrain from being one, seems simple enough to me. Even you should be able to figure it out.
This must be me being dumb again. Define “bitch”. What rules do you think a woman needs to follow in order for you to kindly and generously refrain from calling her one?
Gotta run, blog to write and radio to do later today. Idle hands and all that …I’ll be sure to address your opinion of my opinion.
Funny, I’ll be at a taping of our local humanist group’s television show, talking about women in secularism. Race you to changing the zeitgeist?
Now you go back to gloating over shit that should make you embarrassed
Silly, I’m not gloating. I’m innoculating. I’m pointing out to people that all the noise you make, as ugly as it is, is just that. I’m reminding them that they’ve been doing the work, and they are winning. It isn’t gloating to help people appreciate their own power so they’re more ready to use it again. It’s strategy.

So true, seeing the view of some slymepitters on what you or the ‘hive mind’ want to achieve is usually the best laugh of the day. They really haven’t a clue, if they did maybe reap and the slime detractors would have a chance of winning. Well if they knew what the ‘goals’ were and if they had more than 36 noisy toddlers on their side (36, the number in the petition against you!)

Vacula and Paden suggested I go on Reap Sow Radio together with Vacula. I don’t see why I’d spend my time raising Paden’s profile more than he’s doing himself. He seems to be doing a good enough job carving out his niche as the secular community’s Rush Limbaugh.

This guy seems to have a Bryan Fischer-level obliviousness to his own internal contradictions. He goes on a vulgar 10 minute rant calling everyone who disagrees with him “bitches” and “motherfuckers” and “retards,” then swears he doesn’t give a damn about the object of his tirade and then calls them childish. I’ll take weapons-grade psychological projection for $1000, Alex.
And don’t even get me started on the chutzpah it takes to invite Jason on to a radio show hosted by someone who just delivered that disgusting tirade at him and his friends. I didn’t have a clue who Reap Paden was before this all started; I’m starting to see why.

You obviously have not a clue how you are setting yourself up. I can see clearly that you haven’t taken the time to learn about who it is you think you are attacking. What you like to call a temper tantrum, is a character he does weekly. I can guarantee you don’t elevate his blood pressure on any level. I guess you could say he is the king of feminist’s. He is not going to talk to you with a soft touch, just cause you’re a female. He is not going to tip toe around the issue to save anyone from hurt feelings. He stands up for what he feels is right, and honestly you lame wenches set out after Justin like a maggot to meat. I feel because you knew he would back down. If he was all that you accuse, then he would be hear screaming about the debutante’s you think you are. He is not. So, chew well cause you bit of a little to much this time. I am a little confused, Noneya or Beth Hedrick accuses Aratina Cage of assuming she (Beth) is a man.
Where does that happen, all I see Aratina talk about is misogyny, and that surely isn’t making any assumptions on the gender of the misogynist?

Beth, people calling you a misogynist or accusing you of misogyny don’t make an assumption on your gender. You could be an eternal sexless unicorn for all that matters (I’m sure you shit rainbow’s), misogyny is set of opinions and behaviours.
As for Reap Paden, not giving a fuck and replying every time somebody writes something seems a bit like a contradiction to me. It’s worse than the car with the “gay love” bumper sticker and the rosary hanging from the mirror.

Something noticable about this accusation is that a great proportion of our approved male chorus seems to be in stable marriages and relationships. So are quite a lot of the shrill man-hating feminists, most of them in heterosexual ones as well.
So, the good thing about those men Beth hates so much is that they hardly seem to exist.*

Beth – does your mommy know that you’re online instead of doing your maths homework?
I know that being 12 is hard. Caught between childhood and adulthood, your body changing, all kinds of strange new feelings and emotions, getting crushes on older boys (like Reap ‘King of Feminists’ Paden) and so on.
Don’t worry, it won’t last forever! That “high school drama” you’re so eagerly anticipating will be here before you know it!
Just remember though, it’s important to apply yourself in high school, to work hard as well as having fun. You’ll need to work. on your spelling and grammar, learn effective debating skills (Debate Club is great for developing your speaking style too), and study how critical thinking can help you make effective decisions and cogent arguments.
Best of luck Beth! Now do your homework, or you’ll get held back a year. I know fractions are tricky, but ignoring homework to mouth off at grownups won’t make that homework go away. If you get an F your mommy will almost certainly ground you, and you’ll miss Becky’s sleepover

Timid Atheist, when Secular Woman started, a certain sexist meme was triggered in some people. It’s the one that goes, “Multiple women? Overlapping missions? They must be in competition. They must hate each other. Catfight!” In other words, some people assumed that Secular Woman was somehow the anti-Skepchick or “the good feminists”. To the best of my knowledge, no one in Secular Woman did anything to promote this idea, and several countered it, even if not addressing it explicitly. Still, the organization ended up with a few fans for that reason among the many people who support them for their mission.
I hope that helps.

No? Because of the two possibilities: the men who actually claimed harassment policies would limit their opportunities to get their dicks wet, and the ‘beta male’ PUA trope who befriends women in order to get in their pants; there’s only solid evidence for one of those, and it isn’t the type of man typically associating with Atheism+.
