Academics give the most fun birthday presents. So it was a little late. It made for that in sheer mass. I helped move an author’s archives on Saturday, and none of the boxes felt as heavy as this.
And yes, it came with a Post-It flag for the good part.
And yes, the good part is one of these glossy photos.
Never heard of this book before? This is all you really need to know. Just don’t ask me why they mailed it to the English department.
Stephanie Zvan is one of the hosts for the Minnesota Atheists' radio show and podcast, Atheists Talk. She serves on the board of Secular Woman. She speaks on science and skepticism in a number of venues, including science fiction and fantasy conventions.
Stephanie has been called a science blogger and a sex blogger, but if it means she has to choose just one thing to be or blog about, she's decided she's never going to grow up. In addition to science and sex and the science of sex, you'll find quite a bit of politics here, some economics, a regular short fiction feature, and the occasional bit of concentrated weird.
Oh, and arguments. She sometimes indulges in those as well. But I'm sure everything will be just fine. Nothing to worry about. Nothing at all.
I think you could put this to good use:
Give it to a child who’s doing a real zoology project and let them cut out all the glossy fotos they need. Parents always get upset if they do that with their real science books.
Isn’t that the book where fishing flies were identified as insects?
@Al Dente (#1)
Yes, that’s one of them in the third picture. You can see the hook even in the thumbnail.

God be praised!
The cover on my copy is red, did he raise enough cash to print another edition?
