Guess Who's Going to Women in Secularism

Marcus Ranum and I have made our picks for his Women in Secularism grants and confirmed that everyone is still available to go. Sadly, Marcus wasn’t able to fund everyone, and those he couldn’t fund would still have made excellent contributions to the conferences (as well as getting a lot out of it).

If you’d like more people to be able to attend, you can help send them too. Secular Woman has applicants they’re still working to fund. So does Surly Amy. You can help more people afford the conference. Marcus isn’t the only one who can turn harassment into something good.

Now for the grantees:

Congratulations to all, and I look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Thank you.
    Did I mention thank you?

I am so incredibly excited for this conference, and meeting people. I am so very grateful.
I promise to make good use of the conference. I will probably not sleep that entire weekend. xD

May I just say that it makes a lovely change to see such genuine happiness amid all the bulltish that FT Bloggers are (still) having to put up with?
A word to the wise for those awarded grants to attend: should you buy a nice new pair of shoes or an outfit to go in, for Carl’s sake please don’t blog about them. I don’t think the interweb could cope with another avalanche of bitterness, envy, and spite so soon after Greta.

AWESOME!! I am definitely going to have to make my way down there that weekend, even if I can’t get into the conference itself.

please do! we can share a cup of “holy fuck I’m broke” cheap coffee somewhere!

Huge kudos to Marcus Ranum for making this happen. Miri and Kate are two of the most exciting young atheist leaders and they are going to do great things, as I’m sure the others will as well.
