   I’m hanging with the wife… might try to sneak out to a bar for a spot, maybe not… Probably ring in the new year in the land of Skyrim.

   Depends on what my meds do to me. I will soon be waiting for the boys to sleep and then will probably watch something on netflix – falling asleep somewhere along the way – probably before midnight.

   Midnight came and went while I was in bed next to the wife. Not much partying when you get past 40, just fond memories of parties past and the comfort of being next to your life’s companion (for those of us who choose that path)

   Had a late dinner of my spectacular sweet and sour ribs with my lovely husband and gorgeous daughters (10 and 14 yrs old), watched a silly movie, rang in the new year with a bottle of bubbly for the adults and sparkling lemonade for the kids.

   Sounds pretty quiet, but it feels like the best place in the world to me – and we know we’ve got a limited window before the girls will be doing their own thing on New Year’s Eve, so we are treasuring it!

   I was supposed to do an experiment. I can do it now if my cell cultures aren’t dead. They probably are. Winter holidays suck.
