Heights.

From rq: Last weekend went out for a biking excursion in the local nature reserve, which is basically a giant esker system and some of the highest ground around (tops nearly 200m above sea level! amazing!). There’s also a sightseeing tower, which is quite high, have some views (that next-to-last one is a view towards the hometown, you can sort of see the white church tower that was the most identifiable landmark). Also I’m sad the stairs didn’t come out in the right focus, the geometry was pretty cool. Click for full size!

200 meters above the sea? That is yuuge :).
I envy you the flattnes of your place of residence. I have to overcome elevation 70 m uphill and then 100 m downhill daily just to get to work.

I especially like the photo of the stairway. It reminds me of M. C. Escher pictures.

I thought it was supposed to be uphill all the way, both ways…? ;)

Hey, Latvia tops out at about 315 m, ‘kay, rarefied oxygen and all that! To be honest, the hilly parts are very idyllic and picturesque and I miss large rocks and cliffs, but there are benefits. :)
