Summer

With added bonus of play time, courtesy of Marcus, who sends the best goodies ever. Hydrophilic polymer beads, orange oil, water, and really excellent glassware! I don’t know if the sun will cooperate, it’s sunny and remarkably warm today, but it’s supposed to be snowing by Odin’s day. Oh, where’s the virtue in patience? Off to play!

I found that putting it on the radiator works better.

The bummer is I made a largeish batch of orange/clove incense. It smells horrible when burned. That’s why the water beads! A tea light oil diffuser will also work.

I dunno what went wrong except that orange oil makes a rank black smoke when it burns. Memo to self: burn oil on a qtip to test combustion smell before making large batches. I got carried away :/

Hmm…Not quite sure what is going on here, but it looks like making “orange jello” with the polymer beads. Which, if heated, will steam distill off the low molecular weight orange volatiles, yielding their pleasant aroma.
    Enjoy in any case.

Marcus, maybe a synthetic is required, because you can get orange incense, orange with something else, and orange blossom incense.
